where the fuck do I play PVE? It’s always interested me and it seems cool… is it gone? can you still play it? is it more of a an event now? how the fuck does it change from PVP?

Games are completely run by GMs so there’s no set schedule for rounds- Just ‘whenever a GM feels like it’.
A bunch of humans spawn as marines (about 1 PvP squad worth of marines), this is HRP so you will roleplay the entire chow eating sequence from Aliens (bonus points if there’s a synth and you make them do the knife trick). Marines are legitimate protagonists, but you’re also significantly weaker in terms of storage, so running out of ammo is a legitimate concern. Loading, prepping, briefing and such are all HRP and pre-drop is a long process.
The person(s) running the server (The Dungeonmaster Gamemaster) usually just observe or play some high ranking shipside guy to aghost. Their job is to spawn the absolute fucking shitload of AI xenos or AI humans who want to slash or shoot your balls into paste, and also keep everyone along the ‘main storyline’.
Some players might be able to be spawned as a special entity, say maybe a predator, a synth or other planetside character.
AI Crushers and Praetorians and such tend to be spawned as ‘minibosses’.
Roleplay as hard as you can, watch your firing lanes (impossible) and if you die, you’re dead forever (extra crit hp though). Most rounds last several hours, the SL is always brand new, and the GM usually tries to get at least half the players to die horribly for cinema. Goodluck.
