After the X amount of rounds where someone walls an APC fully off, and where the X amount of mods/admins have to bwoink people and remove said walls, how about we just fix it mechanicly?
During the past round of hijack, someone came up with the idea of APC just not working if they were walled off, which I think is a good start to fix said problem.
They would leave an open tile where the APC is and just surround that tile with walls anyway. It wouldn’t solve the core problem of people completely walling off APCs or equipment like the telecom arrays.
think it just needs to be a harsher punishment or the entire idea of building walls needs to be looked at, could just be a hull wall on the APC in every building in case OB destroys it but otherwise maybe shouldn’t be able to build walls?
maybe you are right in regards to the idea of building walls in it’s entirety. Or maybe restricting building walls to only shipside/non-hijack situation.
Isn’t the core problem that only T3s can break those and this breaks balance?
So make that walls made by players can be broken by “big xenos” like defender in lowered crest, warrior and drone T2s. Then give xenos ability to see APCs trough walls. You can explain this fluff wise that newly created walls don’t have the same structure because they were made quickly and that xenos can sense electricity.
Problem solved, you can make even 10 layers of walls, just a waste of resources.
If it is strictly tcomms APC problem, then make those comms either stop working completly if new walls are made around it and it’s APC, or that it heavily garbles the messages.
An’t seen this my self any time recently, but xeno’s already have plenty of xeno’s to break walls (Most of which I’d personally like to see removed and acid buffed up)
If it’s reinforced walls then yes it’s a T3 problem, however defenders can pry open the holes made in said walls
Normal walls can be broken via warriors or lurkers then defender/T3 follow up or with patience be spit down by a spitter.
Overall we need to stop gutting engineers, role is already super dead in what it can do.
