As a xeno player, sentries are VERY effective in stopping/slowing 1-2 xenos from pushing a cadeline, but are definitely beatable when you have more xenos.
For example, if I’m a backlining drone or lurker, I can normally kill a single unattended cade pretty easily, but a cadeline would make it VERY painful to kill on my own.

I always just throw down a DMR turret somewhat behind the line and slowly move it up as we push. Its not the best, but its basically free DPS while I focus on keeping the defenses built.

When I see plasma sentries on the front as marine I literally just turn them off.

All sentries are good sentries.
Some mow down xenos, others heroically guard walls and empty hallways.
Even when they’re useless, they’re trying their best
and that’s what counts.

Sentries have always been usefull. The only ones saying they aren’t wants you to stop using them

The only useful “Sentry” was the Bell. Bring back the Bell.
