Tis I, Duke a/k/a Archibald V. Cartwright, I have a question for you all. Which film do you think presents the greatest charge of calvary? I have two contenders but would like to know all of your opinions:
Lord of the Rings: The Return of The King - The Ride of the Rohirrim - A classic, Bernard Hill as King Theoden sells it.
Waterloo - Scots Greys Charge - Fantastic camera work and attention to detail.
Purely due to every single one of these men being real, and the whole battle being expertly choreographed. One of the best filmed battles in cinema history
You found both of my contenders too- i think 2 is the more impressive for the same shared bit of movie trivia- all those men are real, and some are genuine calvary.
I know its not calvary, but im also immensely fond of black adder goes forth. For a comedy i think it shows great emotion, and potrays very faithfully the feeling alot of men had in their last moments in those trenches.
With Fire And Sword has some pretty good charges- namely the cossacks against the winged hussars, though you’ll have to watch it subbed unless you’re Polish.
