Hello everyone, today i will make a list things things you can do while playing Staff Officer on CM13. Make sure to like the post, smash that follow button, and leave a reply down below! It really supports my forum account and it notifies you every time i drop a banger! Now back to the list.
Just do nothing - The thing most SO players do is just sitting down in the chair and doing nothing. They say nothing and do nothing. Watching the helmet cams and ignoring what the XO or CO is saying. Fire ob on 76 -8 -2? Send supply drop at front? No way! Im too lazy for that!
Watch an entire movie or a youtube video - The most common thing that experienced SO players do is not even play the game and watch something else on their computer or a phone. I personally recommend watching a youtube documentary instead of a movie but thats just me. Wait what do you mean we lost? How is this my fault? I did not even do anything wrong.
Play an entirely different game - Sometimes CM can be boring, everyone knows that. So of course the first thing that comes to mind is playing a different game. Usually you can play a mobile game like angry birds or clash of clans, but in some rare instances you can have a game open on a second monitor, like minecrap or league. This is one of the rarest things to do as a SO, therefore if you are a part of the 10% you should be proud!
Actually play the game - This is the most mythical and legendary thing to do as SO. Basically you dial in OBs and supply crates then send them down when told to. Its an insane concept i know. It also requires a lot of skill to look at a camera and say something on comms like “SL downed in hydro, please move there to recover them”. You can also load OBs, but that requires counting and advanced comprehension skills, so a new SO will likely fail, and do the first thing on the list.
Deploy and frag - Super easy to do. Just demand the XO or CO to open armory so you can deploy. You get denied? Deploy anyway or cyro. You were made to frag not to sit behind a screen and waste precious time.
Thanks for reading my list. Stay tuned for the next post where i talk about the BEST things to do as MP. Geode out.
Playing as a SO is kind of like picking Yuumi in LoL. You pretty much ignore everything going on in the game and only occasionally check in to see how things are going. As for me, I do both. I sit in the SO chair and pick Yuumi support in ranked matches, and I contribute absolute nothing to the team.
SO is very fun to play if you play it right. Just lie to marines about queen’s location, gaslight them, send them on the most suicidal missions, use OB to destroy the front and claim it was an oopsie daisy, always ignore requests for supplies and watch them getting mad. The worst thing that can happen is you getting jobbanned, but it that really a loss to you? It’s also way easier to fly under the radar as a SO, though doing everything I mentioned as the XO is way funnier.
The best way to play SO is to RP eating chips and drinking souto into your announcements.
SQUAD ANNOUNCEMENT: “cracks open can okay guys… uhhh…. reaches into potato chip bag just uh…. munch mmm. Hang on guys grabs another chip those are good HEY LT WANT A CHIP? NO? MORE FOR ME! munch oh yeah squad, queens at FOB.”
i had an SO once print out a sheet containing each squads make up and recapping orders. It was terrifying. Also I love watching the fear in my SOs eyes cause he was expecting to sit in CIC when i say “deploy and build the FOB” or “secure comms”
Ngl I tried doing SO to get the Captain Gramps meme but it sucks to play on a computer in a computer game - especially with my reflexes and typing skills
I wish there was a way to better scale the like, two tabs minimum I need open on my laptop screen. I’m used to leadership roles but I can barely fucking overwatch and comms at the same time so I mostly end up ,abcd echoing callouts and watching that pretty live tacmap
playing any Command role (from my experience) is mostly being in CiC with a window in the corner of your screen watching youtube or acting like your busy by typing for one second, then reverting your message
