Reason for Ban:
I let every medbay employee do literally whatever they pleased as a CMO, one of them wanted to test poisons so I gave them a monkey, eventually they grew bored and they wanted to test it on humans, I noticed what was the intent and I threatened to not do anything dumb, eventually they poisoned me. Afterwards, after I got revived I tracked them, shot them to death and then nuggeted them. I intended on giving them new legs after some 5 minutes or so but that… doesn’t really makes it better.

Your appeal:
I’d like to talk about precisely why all of this even got to happen, i.e. my motivations. This part it’s not really that important but it explains why I don’t want to completely appeal all the medical JBans I got.
I don’t really enjoyed the position/state of medbay back then, I always thought that medbay could be a lot more than what it currently is and I believed that leadership could bring into reality a medbay that can be significantly more involved and helpful. Because of that I’ve grown to dislike CMOs that do things like sitting in the medbay reception to play DnD or to run other gimmicks that don’t engage with the op as a whole.
My attempt at changing this was essentially a sort of subtextual “trade” that I did with my staff that I was doing for a good ammount of rounds as CMO. I’d let them be LRP, I’d approve all projects that they’d ask for (for example, if a nurse wanted to be a therapist I’d go to CIC, touch up the ID job name and I’d let them reign over the therapy room) and I’d create sort of junior-management roles for each part of medbay (Senior Researcher + Senior surgeon for handling Research and Medbay respectively should I be needed in CIC for Overwatch duty, for example). All of this under the request that I did to them: I actually wanted them putting in the work, I didn’t liked how most marines thought that medbay was full of baldness back then so I wanted to double down on teaching doctors and nurses while I gave reasons to most people in Medsci to care about the place and the round.
When things went well I was able to do stunts like running medbay alone while my researchers were working alone and in peace and while I had 4 doctors deployed in FOB (before the Field Doc days) and when it went bad… Well it never really went bad until my last medical round.
The thing is that nobody really used all of the freedoms that I gave them, so the moment someone actually used the LRP freedoms I gave the resulting escalation of shenanigans went out of control so quickly and so extremely hard that I ended at the point in which nuggeting a doctor was the only coherent way to act given the character I had (of course, ignoring completely the fact that I was a 1st LT CMO on a military vessel).
I never denied the nature of this fuckup, to this day I still tell the story as both a funny LRP story but also as the best example that I personally know about why heads of department should keep strict RP standards. I’ve essentially placed myself in a position where I was going to either be perceived as a pushover, or where the alternative was extreme LRP and I picked the later, all of that would’ve been avoided by actually following RP standards.
I never opposed the fact that I got punished, if anything after some moments of contemplation while I was finishing up the nuggeting surgery stalkerino PM’d me about something completely unrelated (if memory doesn’t fails me I wanted overhead LOOC to teach a nurse) and I basically confessed him in a funny manner that I had messed up.
The only thing that I ask is the removal of all medical/research JBans that I have WITH THE EXCEPTION OF CMO. This is because what happened is a peak example as to why I’m not fit yet to be a CMO. Maybe later, after playing doctor for 200 or 300 hours I’ll find a way to lead medsci in a way that will make me, marines, doctors and researchers satisfied while keeping it rule-abiding, only then I might try to appeal the CMO JBan.
On the meantime I believe that I’m fit to play as any other medical role. Before the JBan I don’t remember hearing complaints of how I player or how I behaved, and after the JBan every time I had the chance to do medical stuff (ERT medic, SO, ASO, PO/DCC, for example) I did it without causing any issues.
Also a small note: I would’ve appealed this sooner, but I misunderstood both the ban itself and the minimum-ban-time for appeals (thought I’d have to wait for 180 days before appealing). On round 29075 Smellyhippie explained it to me and it turns out I am already able to appeal this.
