big monitor gamers, how do you read chat?

Coming back from a big break, now on my home PC

32" monitor. I’m used to a small laptop screen where chat is always in view, however here the chat is too big for me to have one eye on the game and one on the chat. I might be sat too close as I can’t actually see the top left and top right corner of my monitor without having to look away from the center slightly either way. Looking for advice beyond “adapt”, maybe I can shrink my display size for the game like how Paper’s Please does it?

Thanks.

You could decrease the viewports icon size and put it to ‘Stretch to fit’, then slide the chatbox. (In options tab above chat).

Alternatively, you can change the size of the text itself with the cog button; Nevertheless, you should maybe adjust your chair slightly so you can see the entire monitor.

Hope this helps:)

played around with this, I think I’ve got a good set-up. Will update the post if I can find something that works in-game.

Highlights, if it doesn’t have a keyword that I put down I mostly don’t read it if I’m in combat

TLDR: I change what angle I sit at to the monitor, to 100ish degrees so I’m looking left at the screen naturally and my right eye naturally looks past the chatbox.

25 text size
2.5 line size
stretch-to-fit

Thank you for providing dimensions. This could be very useful for many players.

I take it the extra step and pretend I meant to ignore them so I look cool and rebellious, rather than blind and oblivious (I cant even find shit on the map half the time.)
