If I want to build six barbed wire at once, enter it in as 6. This would be a huge QoL for engies I think.

It could, but you can just split metal stack in your hands to exact ammount you need for rods, or barbed wire.

I hate having to go back and wire up cades. I’d be fine with increasing cade costs by one for them to be built with barbed wire already attached. While, I understand there are times when you’d rather build without barbed wire, but they seem rare. Barbed wire feels like engie busy work.

I’d say no to this, wiring up cades should be an intentional decision, not the default. Plus there are times where you have to make each sheet of metal count and adding forced barbed wire would mean you can make less cades, 4 metal means you can make 12 with a single stack of metal, you’d lose 2 per stack with this change, I’d rather have 12 unwired than 10 wired
