I remember the cat in the hive incident. Killed 5 larva in under 3 minutes. It was nerfed the round after. Funny times.

Honestly, sentient animals usually bring about HRP or very very silly RP.
Never in my life saw a player even be a dickhead as a sentient animal.
It has no downsides really.
Not so sure about it being a tecpoint purchase, but i dont give a shit how, as long as we get sentient animals. So sure.

In all seriousness. It’s canon, and it would be an interesting search and rescue mechanic. Monochrome vision, maybe highlight blood trails? Runner speed, lesser attack strength.
