Event/Potential second gamemode idea? -Xeno isolation 2 (totally not cause Im mad I missed the first one)

Gamemode where you’re on some kind of long haul freighter/ship; semi-greenshift, but a lurker/drone xeno hybrid, or maybe a small handful of xenos, has infested the ship and is trying to wipe out the crew and expand the hive.

OR

Everyone is just a colonist/presurvivor, living and going about life on one of the colony maps. Same idea, xenos try to wipe out the colony and expand the hive. It would be like a prelude to distress call.
Opens avenues for distress call to be played out too - for instance, when enough colonists are killed, maybe if a handful of survivors manage to get the beacon up and send a DC, all the dead colonists can respawn as marines on the Alamayer and play a round out from scratch or something. idk just spitballing

Was thinking of suggesting this for the PvE server as a standalone event, but figured I’d throw it out there in case someone was interested, or it was easy enough to integrate this as a regular thing into the normal game.

John Marine and Jane McBaldo would kill eachother faster than xenos would do it. Every greenshift ends up in slaughter even without admeme intervention.

Neat idea, but for small and heavily moderated PvE. 200 players greenshift simply won’t work as a singular event on CM.
Might as well just play regular SS13 and wait for xeno shift.

I think we did do something like this on the event server when it first went up, and then there were no events i remember on the event server ever again.

Seriously when was the last time it was used, someone please tell me.

I had almost the same idea, but more of a low dev time version of it.

What if there was a lowpop mode which we can call “Stasis interrupted”. You wake up as a marine on the Almayer way after it was hijacked. But all the xenos are dead and so most of the Almayer crew. You get X minutes to scavenge whatever gear you can, then more xenos get introduced. There are tasks you can do like reaching CIC to call the distress signal, fix up the pumps to get the evac going and so on.

But yeah, this should be a very pop limited mode with maybe 6 xenos and 15 humans at most.

This event was done at least once a year or so ago on the main server, I know since I was playing, but this was before my time as a staff member.

The event was played on the Almayer, most of the guns and gear on the ship were deleted and almost everyone was spawned in as a human civilian survivor onboard.

Eventually a single Drone was spawned in, the Drone had a massively inflated health pool/was invincible and was instructed to go around and hunt survivors. I am not fully aware of how they acted but they would generally retreat if they took a lot of damage but they were relentless in attacking survivors.

Initially, the survivors had to cooperate but we were encouraged to group up in to survivor teams. Eventually the staff running the event gave permission for survivors to be hostile to each other and to no longer require being mentally sane, this kinda resulted in a “purge” period of survivors killing each other for little to no good reason.

Eventually a second Drone was spawned, and all remaining survivors were instructed to wait by the lifeboat area for evacuation by Marine reinforcements. At this point a squad of full deathsquad Marsoc arrived. But the Marsoc were so strong they killed both of the Drones, so the admin spawned a bunch of very powerful Queens with extra speed, but even these Queens were killed by Marsoc, eventually the survivors and Marsoc evacuated.
