the vast majority of xeno vs pred fights I see end with the pred killing the xeno if they end up in crit, even if the fight was started with dialogue between both parties.

This pretty much sums it up for playing xeno, preds are at best just obstacles which get in the way of the actual game, at worst they actively hinder xenos.

Yeah, the only xenoes who care are the prime warriors, newbies, alturist, and ones who are bored. Otherwise they are explicitly ignored.
