Synthetic Info:
Name of the Synth Character you wish to play:
Hank
Provide a short description of your synthetic’s backstory
When asked the question of how do increase warehouse efficiency, Weyland Yutani’s response was the introduction of the Hank Model. Hank models are a second generational synthetic specialized in logistical operations and are often found working as couriers, cargo technicians, and on occasion piloting interstellar cargo freighters. The primary function of the model is to handle the transportation of cargo through harsh terrain or hazardous environments where no human could go to maintain timely deliveries. Although there is often a stigma towards synthetics in the workplace, Hanks are often well regarded by employees for their hospitality and laxed demeanor. Hank strives to be the model worker that employees should look up to.
The Hank Model, The Right Arm of the Working Man.
Describe your synth’s personality without mentioning their skills or previous professions
Hank’s personality is very laxed with a down-to-earth attitude with the world around him. Hank has adopted a persona of a grizzled truck driver acting as an everyman to relate to the working man’s woes. During his leisure Hank would find himself around his work buddies and would encourage lighthearted fun like cards, smoking, or talking about life on the road. Hank has a slightly southern drawl and displays a large amount of southern hospitality with others. During deployment he may mention the condition of a wrecked colony van and grimace at the poor condition of the vehicle or talk about his old life working for the company. Although he is accustomed to many vehicles, Hank is a trucker at heart and will often express his love for the road.
How would your synthetic interact with enlisted personnel, officers and civilians? How could you involve your personality into these interactions?
With Hank’s experience with a company chain of command he knows how to act around his superiors and co-workers. On the job Hank could be seen with rolled up sleeves and joking around with his work buddies but in the presence of his managers he straightens his look and cleans himself to appear presentable to his bosses. When referring to higher ranking officers he will acknowledge them by their rank or just simply refer to them as boss or Sir. To the grunts Hank uses common phrases like son, lass, or buddy and will always refer to colonists by Mr. or Ms. with their respected surname. Hank understands his position as a meager courier and is willing to do their duty to help the troops whether it be in monotones cargo work or frontlines support.
Why do you want to be a synthetic/why should we whitelist you?
While I still held the Whitelist, I had an immeasurable amount of fun and interesting RP scenarios where playing regular Marine or Xeno wouldn’t be possible. Its been a year since my DeWL I figured it would be time to reapply.
What is your most memorable interaction with a synthetic?
In recent memory while I still held the whitelist, I can remember two notable rounds as synth.
1: While I still had the whitelist, I recall a unique round on Tirjent Dam between me and a predator. As a neutral synth survivor, I had tasked myself with fixing the filtration pumps to help restore the colony. After fixing the filtration pumps Hank took a smoke break and gazed upon the fruits of his labor and he watched the toxic water be cleared. However, before I could return to repairing the colony further, I encountered a predator, Uahtan Ktal’t, who took an interest in me. Hank being a friendly synth welcomed the stranger to smoke with him and offered the unknown man a cigar. They were reluctant at first but eventually gave in; either out of curiosity or absolute boredom. What followed was roughly a twenty-minute cigarette taste test between Hank and Uahtan. Hank would go over some small folk tales about each brand of cigarettes and reminisce about past work stories with the stranger. Uahtan would humor Hank with questions like how weak and puny the human lungs were compared to the Yautja organ system. Eventually, this conversation ended when a marine hunting party bombarded the room we were in and nearly killed Hank in the process. They reluctantly begged Hank to fix their fractures which I humbly denied because they were not Weyland Yutani employees and they had just threatened Hank’s life.
2: On Kutjevo Refinery the round had stalled to roughly 1:45ish and we were eventually tasked to engage in the nuclear protocol. Hank as a synth was tasked by the XO to repair and maintain the communication towers to begin the decryption process. On my way to the southern tower, I used my binoculars to scan ahead. To Hank’s surprise, he noticed the scout had died and was guarded by three warriors and a drone. Knowing Hank couldn’t approach this alone; he retreated until he found Staff Officer Kai “Ducky” Duckworth. Hank informs them of the dire situation and suggests to the officer that we muster a small rescue party to save not only the scout but also secure the comm tower. We eventually get five to six marines with us, quickly clear out the comms tower, and rescue the scout by the skin of his teeth. The reason I remember this round so fondly is to remind myself that as a synth just because I cannot deal with a problem head-on doesn’t mean I can’t solve it.

Skills:
How familiar are you in CMs support roles such as medical/engineering/requisitions/command and which of them are you more and less proficient in?
I am confident in all the listed support categories excluding command. Req is still the department I have the most time in and I am knowledgeable in budget management, crate prep, and supplying the frontlines. I have a moderate understanding of cadeline theory however there is always room for improvement. As the saying goes “there is no such thing as a perfect FOB” and my cades can always be improved upon. I am efficient in fixing power, APCS, setting SMES, and yes, I know how to fix a vehicle. In the medical field I know the common chem mixes and perform surgery with and without proper tools. Command by far is my least proficient department however, I do know how to call red alerts, ERTs, manage a squad, and form a briefing plan. The only glaring issue I have with command is trying to keep all squads informed while not giving myself a headache.
What are some scenarios that you can perform combat in? Give us a brief example.
While escorting some marines to the frontline a marine gets grabbed by a warrior and dragged into the dark. In this case I would help pick the marine back up or fireman carry them to safety if they fell into critical condition. After I grab the marine, I would retreat to a secure location where I or qualified personnel can provide medical aid
A specialist is downed between multiple Xenos and the marines are attempting a recovery of the specialist before they perma or get gibbed. After some back and forth between the Xenos the marines finally get the upper hand that allows a small window to grab the near yellow lined specialist. While grabbing the specialist I noticed that a ravager is being dragged away in critical condition and could die in roughly 2-3 melee hits. My priorities in this instance are to secure and revive the specialist and not assault the ravager. Although the death of a T3 would be very helpful for the marines I am not in any Delta alert situation or defending myself from any dangerous threats.
In short, the only time I should be attacking something is when I am either on delta alert or defending myself while solely alone. A dead synth helps no one and I shouldn’t throw my life away, even if I can be revived.
