Your appeal:

I’m getting a feeling of Déjà vu…

To summarize the events into two short paragraphs:
I and two CMB escape on a WY shuttle to the WY ERT station, I, looting a dead CT corpse I brought up with us, find a BRUTE launcher on their corpse. As I equip it, the rounds ends, and figuring that, as the round ended, doing something mildly LRP would be of no consequence, as the round had ended and the server would restart in a few minutes, thinking that it’d be mildly entertaining for I and the two folks playing the CMB, I, in my infinite wisdom, decided to fire off the BRUTE launcher and the excess rockets it had in it’s holster (four total). As a result of this carnage, a whopping 12 walls and 2 doors stood destroyed.

I then received an admin PM asking me why I chose to blow up a part of the ERT station. I, well aware that this would most likely end up with me being banned/receiving punishment for something I deemed so frivolous (Despite it still being a rulebreak), was (if I recall) pretty hostile to the admin who PMed me. As a result of my actions (blowing up a part of the ERT station), I was given a month ban as it RP-wise makes no sense why someone would fire four breaching rockets on a station they just arrived at, and also due to my previous note & ban history.

I’ll start this off by saying that I’m well aware I broke the rules, and I agree, I fucked up, that’s my fault. I deserved to get punished for doing something stupid that I have been warned against doing time and time again.

But I hardly think that given the scenario and what I did to break the rules warranted a month ban, even if you include the fact that I was unbanned only a week prior to the events for the same rules being broken, even factoring in ban escalation.

I wholeheartedly agree that I should’ve been given some form of punishment for breaking the rules, but a month ban seems excessive, even if it was following escalation (As far as I am aware, EORG is separate from escalation bans, and I haven’t found any statements in the forums, rules or discord that state that EORG bans aren’t separate from escalation bans). And, I get the feeling that they also thought a month ban was somewhat excessive, or at least long enough to clarify that the reason I was receiving such a long ban timer for such a minor rulebreak was due to escalation.

I believe in this scenario, considering my actions were LRP and griefing, and occurred after round end, I should’ve received an EORG ban, considering committing suicide at round end is one of the examples of EORG in the rules, clearly being LRP and (obviously) griefing are both punishable with EORG, which are both the rules listed as being broken in my ban.

To emphasize my point, let’s compare what I did the first time around to get a 2 week ban (Murdering a CMP and MW in cold blood, and being generally very LRP throughout the round) and what I did this time around to get a month ban (Fired four BRUTE rockets at round end).

I’m honestly not even sure if this is the correct path to go about getting a ban time reconsidered, but I can’t see anything else indicative of going about it another way.

I understand that asking for an EORG classification isn’t really an “appeal,” but given that more than three days have passed since the ban was issued, if it were reduced to an EORG ban, it would’ve already expired by now. In effect, I’d see it more as an extended EORG ban.

I’m aware it’s been a few days, but after mulling over it, I figure the worst case scenario (barring getting banned for longer because of it) of making an appeal is it getting denied and me being in literally the exact same situation as if I hadn’t made one at all, and at the very least, I can get some information on how the ban escalation system works regarding EORG. So there’s only really positives to making an appeal.

TLDR: I did a big bad, and I apologise and get that I shouldn’t have, yet I also feel like a month ban is mildly excessive for blowing up 12 walls on an ERT station at round end. As I very much got the message with my previous 2 week ban, and had a lapse in judgement and did something LRP due to it being round end and me partly forgetting that, despite how most players act, RP standards don’t suddenly vanish once the round ends.

Hi, after consulting with management the ban is being upheld as a non-EORG ban. You just came off of another ban practically and then immediately decided to repeat the same kind of behaviour demonstrated, and in your own post are saying that you are aware what you did is against the rules.

I very seriously suggest you consider why you keep getting into these situations, and what you believe the RP standards of the server to be, before you are permanently banned.

Appeal denied.
