I dont like rng naming. It lacks flavor imo

It should just be a whitelist of approved names which could coincidentally include some of the known xeno mains tags(Owl, War, etc…) . However it’s not emphasized the same way. Or it can be a whitelist that Xenos with similar tags can opt out of cause I know my sisters, no one likes being identified by the opposing team. Until AFTER xenos win. It can be cool.
Or even a simplified version of this where the Xeno “age”(Elder, Mature, Prime) all correspond to a small set of cool names that would indicate the level of prowess that xeno has without referencing their specific name tag. Some examples, a prime Xeno gets 5 kills/captures (which would be an interesting coding challenge) then they are tagged “Scar”; that prime Xeno continues living gets to 10 kills/captures (an incredible feat that rarely happens) then they are tagged “Hornet” etc…
Where maybe it can be as simple as the first designation(over 5 kills) always being a name of a type of injury. Furthermore, second designation(over 10 kills) could be an animal; so on and so forth. The third designation(15 or more) could be Marine Weapon names or in universe machine names. All of it would create a fun little environment where instead of the Queen giving the Xenos royal jellies. Xenos accrue medals(name designations) through actual performance that they only are aware of at the end of the round.
I don’t know I’m just thinking about the fun it could be. Small tropes that Marines could glom on to for MRP fame : “we’ve got an animal of a xenomorph on our hands”; “we’ve got a real MACHINE of a xenomorph today, be careful this one’s a Powerlifter”

Not a bad idea how Bop has it outlined though. Waaaay more interesting than tags (of which some players certainly choose some of the tags of all time)
Also so that people can’t keep clowning themselves in dchat malding while their tag is fully visible.

Didn’t xenos that got 50 kills used to be changed to “bloodsoaked” Designation or something
