Holy. Shit. This. Game. Is. Doomed.

What does this mean? How is this even calculated?

I ran from:

  • Prep to Req
  • Req to Prep
  • Prep to Req
  • Req to Medbay
  • Req to Normandy
  • Ran around the Normandy
  • Constructed BARRICADES with NO TOOLS out of BARE METAL
  • Shot SEVERAL Xenomorphs
  • ESCAPED on the Normandy
  • Ran to Engineering from Palm Airfield
  • Vaulted a WINDOW

and I burned 46.85 calories? Do I misunderstand how taxing these activities could be in full gear? If undercalculated, how can things like this be allowed in the game and be inaccurate? This is almost as bad as the RNG heart rate whenever you scan someone. CM13 Era Of Humiliation is Now.

I need an explanation. PLEASE!

ok fine sal I’ll increase the number of calories burnt per step >:(

I did not account for any factor other than the average number of calories burnt per step, so general metabolism, carrying heavy loads, the rigors of combat are kinda just not accounted for whatsoever

so uh yeah, the calories burnt should be way way higher now that I think about it

Displaying the IC-name name is a known bug, its actually displaying how many calories the player burned over the course if the round.

Numbers are calculated based on how many frags you accrued, if you play lurker or warrior, wear exo webbing, and more. These factors are tallied into a MMR-like score refered too as a “Sweatiness” value, and combined with your total clicks per round, can end up surprisingly accurate!

Go the Distance!

are you happy now Sal

does this please you

the average soldier should burn maybe 4000 calories on average a day, translating to maybe 170 calories an hour, most energy consumption tends to just be from general metabolism, which is part of why calorie counting is extremely good for losing weight vs exercising a shitload

I’d estimate that if you move one tile a second on average throughout a round (taking into account stopping and such), you should burn maybe 7 calories a minute which translates to maybe 400 calories in an hour of high-intensity combat planetside.

That tracks pretty well with 4000 calories a day for your average unga, I’d wager.

edit: Sal you bastard how dare you nerd react me when I fixed the concern you raised in your acid goop post

I’m going to fucking grief you the next time you roll XO

Now we should make it so we determine the exact caloric content of each MRE for optimal energy replacement and scale the slowdown system based on such

We are an extremely thermodynamically-accurate server here
