If you count it goes roughly 7 squares of distance between the defender and the end of vision (plus HUD) so yeah.
They are out of range or the defender could be on TOP of the HUD for them and couldn’t see it, the engineer was the only one that just got within range and in a position the defender would be not below the HUD or they had a transparent HUD (Which is hard to people to have on because you can easily lose track with hand is active)
I mean the sound of a barricade being damaged should trigger any engineer, if you spent your time collecting the scraps, you don’t want a cade to be left alone to rot
