Skill issue, spit them in a 1x1 corner with 1 way out and stand in the way. You can shove them over before they prime the first nade unless they macro spam.

I would now propose you give it as a unique building for carrier (one per), have the egg morpher produce huggers passively, and then make it so eggmorpher can be built ANYWHERE.
You would have carriers able to really help capture by moving morphers around the front… or in a sneaky side nest. And would remove their need to return to the nest constantly.
A queen off ovi too long? Carrier helps save the day.
Gives hugger players a close spot to spawn.
It would still be a nitche but at least they would bring something to the table

I was reading a bit of this and why not just have Carriers apply an enhanced hugger that has a faster burst time, or maybe since carriers see most of their action later in the game the enhanced hugger also allows for better evo times for the larva and it’s t2 time lvl up. I personally as a marine main would shudder if this also lead to faster T3 evos.
Carrier can’t do anything a very active drone cant, hivelord can make stronger walls but NEEDS a drone to do the bulk of the work, the drone caste in general is just fucking shit right now since CAS was buffed the walls destroy so much faster, HP is shitty and plasma is trash, relying on T3 for window ledges etc is cancer and a horrible QOL thing that doesnt make sense even in lore, I can break open the walls with holes but not a window ledge? Fucking give drone caste some fucking love.

Not to mention that base carrier has been largely replaced by player huggers, who are more spread out and more reliable, while giving ghosts something to do.
Just make base carrier shaman or something similar and you might have something.

Baseball strain. Can not hold or place eggs. Gain far sight. Can hold face huggers in each hand and throw them while in farsight.

tbh carriers just need like double the plasma regen, their reweeding is so comically bad dude
a t2 evolution of a drone should not feel like an overall downgrade in return for having huggers
strong phero carrier has way less plasma regen than a no phero burrower, which can also just make traps and shit reliably that break leg splints and are way better than hugger traps 9 times out of ten
i still also believe carriers should be able to generate huggers at perhaps double or triple the time it takes for eggsac to make an egg, because resupply gameplay on some maps is so impossible people give up and go eggsac after they run out of huggers
fionira and chances are good immediate examples of shitty resupply spots

I agree on the plasma regen. However, Having carriers straight up spawn huggers is asking for a lot considering hugger economy. Making them an active task keeps backlines from being infested by a solo carrier (without skill or effort).
Base carrier with eggs can outdo eggsack as long as queen is on ovi and hive has bodies to morpho. Traps are effective scattered around the colony in chokepoints and you just need a cluster to plant eggs. (lowpop mileage may vary)
A speed boost like hivelord has would be wonderful to retreat and gather supplies.
or alternatively, as I have suggested before, a strain to synergize with Drone-Gardener who would act similarly to old shaman removing traps + huggers and replacing them with with fruit / spored eggs that are able to be planted on garden weeds - which increase growth speed.
Just be a beacon for Huggers to respawn from incase hivelords or drones are to bothered building walls to make a simple egg morpher waste of plasma to them…
I like being a sentient hugger however its easy to get one shot but a stray bullet. So its like bullet hell or super hot. Having someone with health able to cap multiple times is nice. Same with having huggers hugging medics as annoying as i find that as a marine main
