This LV-522 round, I managed to pull off something crazy, right in the middle of the hold dying, I managed to cloak and hide under a dead FORECONs body (I was FORECON scout at the time) Should I have died with the FORECONs, or was this an acceptable case of hiding?
Disclaimer, I never intended on hiding, I held until we didn’t hold anymore. Is this acceptable, or do I now carry the curse of survhiding?

In my opinion, if you’re the FORECON Scout and your hold site is cooked, absolutely cloak and get outta there, but if marines are on the AO, at least try and CPR your guys and get em to a medic.

The only time I dislike hiding as survivor is when that’s your plan at the start. I’ve seen too many Forecon COs do this and not even try to fight and lead their troops.
At least in your case you gave fighting a go and the only option for survival was stealth which is fine in my book. As Nova above said, try and do CPR if you can safely to try and save lives as best you can.

this isnt really what people mean when they say hiding. hider(derogatory) moreso refers to people who eat a surv slot to potentially hog loot, and then not contribute to the mutual defense of your fellow survs.
it’s a bit of a prisoner’s dilemma as well, if survs have no hold xenos will actually look for hiding ones, but if they’re pretty much all in a hold the xenos arent really gonna bother hunting down hiding spots, in effect, the people actually fighting are benefiting the leech who hides and does not contribute.
hiding is stigmatized mostly just because it’s a team game and foregoing your team fucks them over.
FORECON aren’t real survs, so it doesn’t matter
Hiding as survivor is only ever acceptable when most or ALL other survivors are dead\captured, aka when you have no actual chance in a fair fight against xenos.
Everyone who says otherwise is a xenoagent who just wants easy kills or captures.
Honestly, I’m actually perfectly fine with survivors hiding, even if they do so roundstart. To me, it is just one way to try and survive the round, and so I could care less if that’s what some survivors want to do in my survivor round. Heck, I’d probably hide too if I didn’t feel a tad bit guilty for leaving behind other survivors if a hold is being declared.
And in your case? You didn’t even intend on hiding. You were just trying to survive after your holdout with the others fell through.
