Since researchers are now WY researchers, the shtick of the goons coercing the researchers into signing forms and whatnot is kinda odd. Can’t you just send someone to tell the researchers to hand it over or be fired?

The “event” has been outdated for a while.
It’s actually not written anywhere but there is a secret rule that as researchers you can’t ever test the DDI chemical anyways no matter if people are consenting IC and OOC wise and you are roleplaying it out properly. So for a while the only thing you can do with your chemical is just give it to WY straight away.
There’s no actual upsides in keeping DDI as even the potential “funny” aspect of it has been heavily curb stomped by admins

Probably needs to removed or reworked then.
Absolutely a rework, research has been on the downhill where anything but stim production is slowly chipped away at.
The DDI chem and WY ert mini event is a prime example of it

Really cause i have done that tons of times. At least like 5 or 8. Also how are you supposed to held accountable for a rule thats a secret.
But yeah DDI needs a use but the goon squad makes that impossible. I could see it being a battle between CIC and WY over who gets to use it. After all DDI is a chemcial weapon. Thus being ilegal for WY to even have in the first place.

It would fall under rule 2 and 4 i imagine. Not allowed to end someones round, and not allowed to be insane to use it on yourself.

It’s secret as in admins and moderators are free to decide if to apply it or not (awesome!!!). There’s a lot of silly things like this in research where admins will argue with you for things (when I first pulled out live larvas from live monkey hosts I had a speedrun in getting boinked).
This would need to be designed carefully, as of now there’s no way for CIC or Almayer researcher IC to know what i truly does.
This always peeved me because there are truly non-insane reasons for self experimentation, both IRL and in a sci-fi setting for ethical reasons and more:

Honestly if you remove the ERT it be way better. Just let the Rsr keep it and make it turn you into a greeno or maybe a tamed hive instead. Thats an easy fun fix.
First off as a Rsr it’s called xenogenic catazlyis now. Thier no reason to assume my Rsr does or dosent know what this chem does. Thier no lore for all we know my guys worked with it before. After all WY made it who’s say i didnt help. Or read their database of chems after all I do work for them. I could make up a 100 reasons as to why as a Rsr i know exacly what it does. But i could also easily RP me not knowing what it does. Then runing tests to find out.
Clearly the admins dont understand the concept of taking one for the team.Anything thats too strange is classafied as insane due to hollowood over dramtizing these things.
Let us expirement on people if they let us. The player agreeded knowing full well they might get round ended.
Sure OOC you know what it’s going to do and the victem knows what its going to do. But IC you’r jsut pushing the bounds of human knowlage.
If we can justafy giving MP the right to round remove someone based on a crime they technicaly dont need evidence for. Then we can allow this.

Thats sounds bad dosent it. imagine if taco bell was like “oh yeah thats my jar of turn you inside out juice.” Now some corprations are allowed to use controled susbtances for industrial purposes. Cynaide is a good example. But since DDI is not registered as it’s a secrat they even have it. Thats an unregistered chemcial weapon in the hand of a corpration. Thats not good thats like if amazon had a warehouse full of sarin gas. Plus if an XO just asks the Rsr and say what it does. That XO would be in their right to ban it. After all that is a class 4 biohazerd and a bio weapon. On a planet full of xenos theirs a vial of chem that turn people in xenos. Maybe jsut maybe thats cause for an investigation. It could lead to some intresting RP where WY has to hide what it does or else the CMB are going to send them to federal prison or worse.
Might be a good use for the CIC ERT to show up and investigate this whole situation.
