So when a CO gives you a medal let us wear them in other rounds. Simple as. Maybe it changes the medals you get via playtime. So instead of a plat medal it’s that medal of valor you earned.

A workable version of this could just be letting Marines pick one medal to wear, letting Marines pick their coolest / oldest medals to show off!

Cool idea, but a lot of medals are posthumous (when dead). It would somewhat strange to be walking around wearing a medal that says it was awarded when you were dead. Also, a lot of mariines have medals because of how many addicted (not me though, I can totally quit any time I want I just choose not too of course) folks have been here a long time, so you going to have lot of marines walking around with medals.

While PvE does have a mechanic like this (No clue how it works, but I’ve seen people wearing medals), I’m against this. I’m unsure how many medals other people have, but I have six, across three characters, which I’ve accrued over the past two years. I guess what I’m trying to say is that medals feel a bit too common, and while that isn’t a problem by any means, everyone wearing a medal around might make them quickly lose whatever meaning they had.

1/4 of marines each round would be more decorated than damned CO, which at best has his timer medal and nothing else.

We had this exact conversation a little while ago. This is a circle, an ouroborus.
Okay compromise. You can only wear 1 at a time and only if you surivived the round you earned it so not post humam ones.

I’d say at most say, you could pick one, and obviously you wouldn’t to pick one where it said, for instance
‘Saved me from queen and got turned into giblets, god bless’ because that’d be pretty LRP
Ultimately though it doesn’t really matter. Maybe one of each type of medal, so at max you’d only have a few instead of looking like a north korean general.

the only way I can imagine this to work is in a for where the number of each medal are displayed but no texts that are on them, that could be sufficent disconection from past rounds idk
