IMO, the Prime hive would see any and all other hives as inferior beings. Especially Man made abominations made in their glorious image (greenos), and to ally with them would be seen as a sign of weakness, requiring aid from something man made? Heresy to the strength Queen Mother provided us.

As for gameplay? Greenos can still decide to not aid marines, but this coming with the trade off of it being a 1v1v1. Instead of Greenos trying to cause as much chaos topside to force evac for xenos.

it’s NOT I SWEAR!!! (this is just something i’ve thought of for a while, maybe after a greeno betrayal round idr.) In all honesty greeno betrayals are down but I thought with forests latest PR to add the ability to prevent alliances between hives (and a recent greeno round) It had just reappeared in my mind.

It has always occured to me that its weird that the second dotpoint in the xeno roleplay standards rule is that it specifically mentions that "xenoss are not friendly and will not negotiate. It then proceeds to make an exception for corrupts (naturally), reiterates the same above talking point for the alt hives, but never mentions the prime hive.

Would it not be inferred that due to the overarching “xenos are not friendly and will not negotiate”, would that not mean that they (the prime hive) are by default not friendly to ANY alternative hive as they are infact a different faction.

This would solve the issue at hand in this post. While technically greenos can still be friendly to any faction at the will of the queen, greenos wouldn’t ally the prime hive owing to the fact they will just destroy them regardless.

BTW

By the way the rules dont mention renegades at all, which should probably be added to the exceptions for completeness if anything.

I think xeno diplomacy is fun. It would be cool to give xenos more incentives to betray each other though.

I would say forbid corrupted hive to ally prime hive, cause the researchers added a gene that makes them utterly despise prime hive. Would stop the meta COs all denying greenos cause they had an experience with a bad queen and dont wanna gamble more rounds with greenos, because corrupted xenomorphs are physically unable to side with their enemy, but this will still force marines to convince greenos to join their side. Otherwise Corrupted hive is free to 1v1v1 everyone and become the supreme hive, if they think they can win. This would stop all the bad eggs being salty, joining as the first larva and deciding to play as a queen allied to prime hive no matter what from second 0.
They still should be able to ally other colored hives, cause they are lab-grown too if they appear in a round outside of events.

If you want a 100% loyal hive, make tamed xenoes. It takes enough points for a god stim, but it will never betray (mechanicly it cannot even fight back to you hurting it). So going for the relativly cheap option nets you cheap service.

Other colored hives are just other hives. IC they would all be the same character, and the only reason they arent are for xenoes to distinguish themselves. The only lab made ones are corrupted, and tamed ones.

You can’t make tamed xenos because ciphering is capped on 6 and tamed hive is like 9.

More than that tamed xenos require a handler to properly work, and handler is hardcoded, you cannot designate a handler as a researcher. Tamed xenos without a handler are hostile to everyone. Fun fact: during techwebs you could kill the handler to make tamed go rogue.

Would allow making basically a tamed hive without queen, that cannot multiply (without researchers) and whos allegiance would depend on their IFF settings.

Greenos are always iffy.

Its supposed to be the “will they wont they“ research option. But the risk they will is so high its not worth the risk most of the time. I’m a pretty easy going XO in terms of approving stuff and I won’t do greenos unless I really have no choice.

Maybe make them forced allied with the marines most of the time, then a chance you get “faulty“ greenos that can betray *if they wish?*

I thought i’d just clarify that I still want greenos to be able to betray 100%, they should not just be an insta ally.

But I do think they should have to consider whether or not they have the strength to go head to head with BOTH the Marines and Prime Xenos.

Also, I think greenos instantly allying prime hive and saying ‘yo, wanna wipe these fools’ is lame

B) Just make sure, that when you kill greeno queen you get one renegade drone (Lul)
C) I guess Double Burst and Monkey limit doesnt exist for you

would 100% disagree if not for the fact that greenos literally always ally with prime and vice versa if they betray. its always a 1v2 scenario why does nobody ever break up the monotony

Any ideas how to make hives rival each other? Theoretically they would both need pylons. Maybe getting the King should auto-break all the alliances? Like the King is a superweapon you wouldn’t want other hive to get their claws on. I think that’s a solid idea honestly.
