Make the Hivemap openable with Queen off Ovi.

I’m not sure why it’s like this to begin with, I’d appreciate some old people context if anyone knows: but currently the Tacmap doesn’t work if the Queen is off Ovi.

This is fine, but now Marines get permanent access to a Tacmap to navigate themselves around the map even without any Tacmap updates. I think with this, it’d make sense if Xenos could get the same. You could make it so Queen on Ovi makes the Tacmap show positions of other Xenos, but I think you should still be able to navigate yourself around the map with the non-updating Tacmap when the Queen is off Ovi. Just a thought.

Tacmap is very strong tool, more so as xenos. Personally, I think tacmap should stay locked behind Queen ovi

Honestly, it should be like the main poster said.

  • Queen in Ovi: XENOS can see where they are real-time/other XENOS.
  • Queen off Ovi: XENOS can see the map. (Maybe pinpoint themselves.)

This only helps people who don’t know maps of get lost. It’s a win win and doesn’t changes anything but having to alt tab to open the map at the wiki.

Marines can check tax map anytime and know the layout of the planet, XENOS should be able too.

I know it’s strong when drawn on (never) but the inability for xenos to see the map when queen is up really only punishes new players or all players on new maps.
