I almost perma’d today while on the upper level tile of stairs on the new map, with my entire squad walking past only a couple of squares away below. I then realized how silly it looked from the bottom level when you look at the stairway transition to the upper level. Its a tile of stairs into a solid wall. It would be nice to have that upper tile of stairs visible from below somehow without looking up so bodies and enemies cant just be hidden there. Not to mention it would make the transition look nicer from the bottom level.
I believe this is what the pre-multi-z stairs did. It made an “area-mirror” between the teleporter and the destination. Vice-versa since it’s a two-way stairs.
Pre-multiz stairs on Almayer actually worked better in this regard, as you could see everything going on the stairs without needing to “look up”. And you had far better view down the stairs too.
good idea, looking into it, have this so far but there is need for tweeks with it that I am not sure how (if they can) be done
Just brainstorming here. Make it so every stair tile adjacent to a lower tile is visible both ways. Then have any attached stair tile to a stair with multi-z visibility also gain the trait. This would allow for longer stairways (almayer)
It is a little funny when the xenos set themselves on fire walking up being unable to see it to begin with
i adopted this a bit, all done
Harry is the man for all time.
Sweet!
