I mentioned Yrsa’s name and drew attention to get him to recognize that I was melting his third gun. Admin PM from-Tysonix1: “Melting your 3rd gun Yrsa”

The round’s logs will show that I melt everyone’s weapons and flares equally.
I was playing a sentinel. As sent, I rarely get kills/caps but I love to melt things. I know that marines struggle when they lose their weapons, especially if it was like an MK1 or XM88 since it means they need weapon and ammo. I also love forcing flare users to rethrow flares, only for me to melt them. I sometimes count the flares I melt in a round.
Partly through the round, in a-block a marine was trying to flank ahead of all other marines. Turns out it was Yrsa. They didnt have allies nearby so when I managed to stop his flank with stun and neuro slash with a shotgun trade, he had to run and I got to melt his gun: a M4RA. He had to run after that since I am not alone in the north push, and since the front was stuck in the same area, I got to double melt his gun. Later on he goes and attacks in the same place, same nearly solo again. During the exchanges he dies of fire but drops his gun. Once again I melt it, even though it is just a MK2. If req doesn’t send down extras, xenos can get lucky and have marines rifleless. The marines tried pistoling me around this time too, which makes me think my weapon destruction is worth it. Yrsa manages to get revived though, and once again nearly solo attacks the same front. This time he dies in a way he will probably perma from, but nonetheless he dropped his 3rd gun: a MOUSE.
I don’t know yrsa very well as I never speak to them, but I do know he is a skilled marine player, and also plays a good amount on the server. It is also very very rare to get a triple gun melt on the same person. It might have been the first time I ever knowningly managed to pull it off. It is hard because as sent you can only reapply acid after 3 minutes, and then it takes another 3 minutes for it to fully melt. That is 6 minutes of making sure the guns do not get retaken each. I bet there are not many xeno players who could say they accomplished such a feat. I thought yrsa would appreciate it as a fun fact, like knowing if the same marine managed to reverse burst twice from you. In that case I probably would have said the same “hah I managed to reverse burst from you twice now FAT” without actually thinking about what I typed. After the first melt, I mentioned more about the triple melt, making sure I got the accomplishment.

Yep, I believe it, I would say something stupid like that and forget to mask in RP. I told the admin I meant to say annoying tall. Gahhh, another note, although if lucky I will be let off without it.

Wait what? Over breaking IC by using a persons name instead of annoying tall? I guess under the rules sure it’s under metagrudging, sure. But you discussed this with others and decided my record deserved a ban for THIS? A mistake in RP using a person’s name? And also what record: the last time I recall breaking RP had to have been many months ago saying “back off combat synth”, a grey area speaking when a synth was breaking frontline resin walls in front of 2 marines and I wanted to xeno RP to get him to back off. I mentioned some shocked words, and what is this history that he is speaking of. Am I missing something?

I have played on average 2 games a day for the past year. So over half a year ago I said “back off combat synth” and havn’t done anything rulebreaking for at LEAST for 420 rounds? And then I said a person’s name and get temp BANNED for it? You both went and agreed to this ban too, like had a solid conversation about what is appropreate and decided on this? Again, I respond with some shocked response to this.

Behaviour and roleplay is unacceptable as a xeno, due to the lack of escelation in previous notes on Rule 2, and under Grimreaperx15’s instruction, this is escelated to a week. Is naming a player considered metagrudging? I am allowed to melt their weapons, and I thought they would get a laugh out of the same xeno getting all 3 of their guns. Again, I think it was just written this way because naming a player is under the metagrudge portion of the rules. And on top of this, I am being threatened with a stronger ban from this? I couldn’t reply to this though, the ban went through. I think most times I have been noted at the end doesn’t allow me to type anyway.
This exchange has left me completely untrusting of the admins on this server. I just cannot believe after playing for multiple years on this server, this is the way I was treated. All the nurses I have taught, the RP I have done. My attempts to make medbay fun with the timetrials should at least be on the admin’s minds. I have had my tables flipped by marines, and have never assulted or insulted them. What about the drones I spent time teaching, or the times I told players how to play warrior? I have made random players feel welcome like Eli. I have risked my life many times for new xeno players, if just so they can play xeno a bit longer. Even Chichii agrees I am not one of the ‘simple minded’ xenos because I listen to the queen’s orders. My chat logs shouldnt have anything on insulting individual players. The worst you will find is me critizing synths or COs using their full abilities. Just look at my post history on these forums. What part of them screams this player is out to cause trouble to the players on the server? And yet this exchange has made me feel like trash. My history is so tainted that at a mere rule break found I am to be banned on the spot. If half a year later, I am queen, I kill dallas after he kills a T3 and I go “I am gibbing Dallas, fuck him in particular” instead of using “this tall”, am I to be banned for a month? Or is the next one perma?
Later on I looked up Yrsa’s name to see if they were some other character and realized they had the synth Autumn. I have a hard time believing they think I was intentionally targeting Yrsa because I am some kind of synth player hater who griefs all synth players. I don’t the synth’s actual characters besides dafoe. First of all, I have told Autumn themselves that they were the best of the surv synths/combat synths. I told them they did a good job when survsynthing, by focusing on medical and engineering over bashing the xenos away from the cades. Why would they think I would grief the best synth player on the server? Even then, I play nearly every day, and they think the way I decided to finally metagrudge a synth player was by targeting them on the field and melting their guns? There are so many better ways to grief players that I would have done on them. And if I wanted to I would have done it litearal years ago. I am near plat doctor, plat research, plat rifleman, plat medic, and prime many xenos. I could go req and refuse their extra gear due to how impolite they were to me. I have been doctor often: I could just pretend to fumble their larva surgery and then have them burst on purpose. I could accidently tram OD them and blame it on a 2nd medic on them. It would be even simpiler to just act as a less competent medic and ‘accidently’ let them perma due to bad prioritization. I could just easily FF them on the field, yell at them for getting in front of me, and then apologize for the FF. And after over 4k hours, THIS is how I finally get revenge on synths?
Even if this was some misunderstanding over the treatment of synth players or Yrsa in general, look at the admin’s chat to me. There was no mention of discussion anywhere about it. The only hint I got was the fact that mentioning a player’s name is considered metagrudging. There was no discussion over the metagrudge aspect at all. It is a one sided, admins looking at this and agreeing I should be banned. They even took their time thinking about it, and it was two of them talking about it. It wasn’t a quick rash accidental decision.
I just feel so unwanted on the server now. I feel so broken. Admins are the backbone of the server, maintaining the order and overlooking infractions. If an admin wants you gone, they can make you gone. Having the feeling that the admins are just looking for my next rule 2 break to escalate ban me feels so horrid. I don’t want want to be banned, but one day I am going to go type ‘wtf’ or equivilent and get an escalated ban over rule 2. Or they will interpret accidently shooting a player who happens to hold onto a synth character and think I am metagrudging them and will escalate ban for it. It just kills all feeling of trying to connect with the community too. What the point of growing the community when one day the admins will force me to leave? Having friends to play with will just feel worse when I am forced to leave the server. I am currently thinking I am going to be playing muted characters, and abandon all forums, OOC, and LOOC. That way, I won’t have to worry about future bans over chat. I can still play this game without feeling like there is a target on my back. Please, give me a reason to even trust those in power.
In summary for appeals sake: I already know I shouldn’t have said the player’s name, nor did I mean to. Pointing out the guns melting was meant to be playful and an achievement, not holding a grudge. No, I did not target that player in combat specifically besides the fact that they were spearheading/attempting a flank with little support. I melt all guns fairly.
