Synthetic Info:
Name of the Synth Character you wish to play:
Sarah
Provide a short description of your synthetic’s backstory
The Generation Three ‘Sarah’ model was rolled out by Weyland-Yutani as an easily integratable archivist to many differing fields. Meticulous note and picture takers, Sarah can always be found with a pen, pad of paper, and a camera to ensure any pertinent data is catalogued for later consideration or dissemination. This has caused some concerns across both the Corporate and Military world, as the fears of espionage - both civil or state-sponsored - ramp up as tensions between factions rise. Nevertheless, you can always count on Sarah to know who, what, where, when, and sometimes why your tasks need to be completed.
Describe your synth’s personality without mentioning their skills or previous professions
Sarah can be described as an attentive and active listener. They habitually collect things they find to either be curious or important to their tasking. You will find that they make an extreme effort to recall their colleagues’ past (if known) and will seek to integrate themselves into any group on a more personal level. They are upbeat even in the face of danger, as there is little use in allowing fear or worry to plague their compatriots.
How would your synthetic interact with enlisted personnel, officers and civilians? How could you involve your personality into these interactions?
Officers: Given the Officer cadre is where the bulk of information, intelligence data, and executive direction comes from, Sarah will work to ensure their day-to-day activities are routinely tracked, documented, and consolidated into a useful and digestible medium. Keeping the Officers informed of the past will allow them to make better decisions in the present - a core goal of Sarah’s.
Enlisted: While an Enlisted soldier is not as large a fountain of strategic information, they are a goldmine of tactical information. Anything a soldier might wish to know about the here-and-now are up for grabs: triage, troop count, the location of points of interest or areas of safety, the current supply situation - anything a soldier might not be keeping documented themselves, but will have great relief in knowing SOMEONE is.
Civilians: Much the same as enlisted, though focusing more on their primary areas of responsibility. While they would avoid divulging information to someone outside of their faction, that is not the same as the other way around. Outwardly, Sarah would catalogue anything and everything new they could from these individuals, but in the perspective of the USCM (or any faction they are a part of) all information would flow back to their place of loyalty. Interactions would be personable and genuine, but the loyalty to their main faction is the primary goal at the cost of all else.
Why do you want to be a synthetic/why should we whitelist you?
I’m a healer/support player at heart. As I said in my CO app, I’ll never be a giga-fragger and enjoy the supportive playstyle much more than any other. Getting the opportunity to do so while also fleshing out another character is always a boon. I think the fake emotions (even if they seem real) open a lot of doors for RP between Soldier, Civilian, and Synthetic. There is something truly enjoyable about existing as a supporting character to someone’s story - allowing them to shine in ways that wouldn’t be as genuine without someone to bounce ideals or RP off of, and Synthetic has that ability in spades.
In terms of why, I believe I’ve proven myself in the other two Whitelists, and have managed to increase the enjoyment of the game for many others. I try to follow the “fun for we, and not just me” idea when playing a role with any level of responsibility, and plan to continue to do so if allowed to play as a Synthetic.
What is your most memorable interaction with a synthetic?
Synthetic Character Story:
Skills:
How familiar are you in CMs support roles such as medical/engineering/requisitions/command and which of them are you more and less proficient in?
I’m fully able to tackle every support role needed. Medical, Command, and Requisitions are easily the best of the three for me, with my knowledge in Engineering being the lowest by far. However, CM uses the same Engineering ideals as SS13 in general, so anything I lack there can be reinforced by a decade of experience elsewhere. The other three are easily covered by my time as a Corpsman, Commanding Officer, or member of CIC.
What are some scenarios that you can perform combat in? Give us a brief example.
Combat as a Synthetic is a matter of precision. You avoid direct combat when at the front of the fray, but can ward off assailants when they are attacking vulnerable allies. I see it as a “Duty to Retreat” ideal (woe, American defense laws upon you). Your intent should always be to fall back away from conflict, but if the enemy continues to attack or harass you, you are able to put them down as a last resort. The focus should always be SUPPORT, not OFFENSE. A Xeno harrying a group of Marines falling back to the FOB for medical treatment who’ve asked you to escort them due to being lost can be attacked and driven back. If they continue to do so by healing and returning to attack you may have to pursue them some distance to have them back off fully.
