I’d like to assist new players in learning the game. I myself used mhelp a lot when I was a new player, and I’d like to give back. I also find some of the RP possible as SEA interesting.
What gameplay areas do you know and which areas are you strong and weak in?:
I consider myself well versed in the support roles, as I hold the synth WL. I’m pretty good with the xeno mechanics too, perhaps not the best player but I can definitely hold my own in a fight, and I have some level of experience with all the castes, the least probably with praetorian.
I’m not the best rifleman/fragger, though I’ve been trying to get better lately.
How often are to able to play CM?:
I’ll play a round or two a day if I’m not busy and it’s the weekend for instance, if I have things in real life that occupy my time I’ll prioritize that above CM but I do play quite regularly.
A screenshot or transcript of your human and xeno playtimes:
Have seen and interacted with Moshe Navon/Elizabeth multiple times in a variety of situations and can say they know how to roleplay well. S5nt holding the Synthetic and Predator whitelists for months now without issue clearly shows their mechanical prowess as well as server knowledge. I’m sure they will make a fine mentor. +1
Seen and interacted with Day and Elizabeth a lot, they are obviously knowledgeable at the game and a competent player. Has a good spread of hours and knows most if not all roles, Already holds other WL’s and its a great support player with lots of experience and good RP.
Apologies I’m currently doing a big removal on inactive mentors and I’m trying to bundle in people I’m adding as well to save everyone time as I don’t personally have access to the file that adds and removes mentors. EDIT: Will be finalized on the 10th when I’m finalizing the removals.
I am a tad bit late but alas I am here to fulfill the duty of asking obsecure questions to see your knowledge about the game, let’s goooo! Before we start though, I am happy with you as a player and a councillor, no problems with that.
The hell is a aft and fore? What do they mean by fore starboard??? I need explanation.
I’m very confused on how the larva queue works, it keeps switching my place in the line.
Currently playing predator, need to know all the combi-stick abilities, heard it can do cool shit. I’m pretty new to the WL too. (WL Specific question for ya)
What do each xeno phero does???
Is there a way for me to build a new room and attach a independent APC or are all rooms hard-locked to specific areas?
Ghetto stims? The hell are those?
Need some help with being a hivey, I’m confused about the strains and best building strats.
Aft, fore, starboard, and port are all nautical terms relating to the sides of a ship. Aft is the back of the ship, fore is the front of the ship, port is the left side, starboard is the right side. Fore starboard would be front right.
Larva queue works based on the time of which you died/ghosted. If your place in the line is getting moved back, it means somebody who died before you did disconnected and then reconnected or left the queue then entered the queue again, updating your spot in line to be behind theirs.
The combi stick can be folded into a smaller size with the space bar, and it can also be thrown at enemies for good damage if you hit them with it a couple times. Upon being thrown/dropped, you are also able to recall it either using the recall combi stick button/verb, or if you have it bound to a key you can use that too. There is a google doc pinned in the predator channel on the discord with all the item information.
Recovery makes you heal quicker, recover plasma quicker, and stuns last for less time. Frenzy increases your movement speed and damage, and warding makes you take longer to go into crit once you drop below 0 hp, allowing you to escape much easier when you take too damage. It also negates some of the bleed out effects if you are not on weeds.
You can’t create new areas in CM, no. You can move the APC around though by deconstructing the current one and building a new one wherever you want as long as it is within the proper area.
Ghetto stims usually refer to doing something like ingesting runner blood or hivelord blood which apply some properties usually found in stimulants, along with medicine to counteract any negative effects they apply.
For building, try to make your doors 2 wide at least (not 2 thick) and have plenty of cover for xenos. Try not to build dead ends either. A basic and effective layout is 2x2 walls, spaced apart from each other by 2 tiles, with the gaps in between the wall blocks having doors. Make sure doors are 2 wide not 2 thick, so somebody passing through only needs to open one of them. There’s only one strain for hivelord, resin whisperer, which basically lets you build from a distance like queen (remote build) at the cost of not being able to build the strong walls and doors that a normal hivelord can. Wiki page for hivelord and its strain is here, Hivelord - CM-SS13 - Wiki, and hive building help on the wiki is here, Hives - CM-SS13 - Wiki .
id say this guy is a cracked marine/synth player but as always with mentor apps theres a lack of xeno hours which makes me sad
heres some quick xeno questions
Hello queen here. How do I build a core?
I am a new burrower. What exactly should I do to stop burrowing/pop out in place where I just digged in? I would like to test out this stunlock ability I just learned about.
Can you give me an advice on building up hive? How should I build walls? I am new.
i roll spec on high and xeno on medium so i can ruin the rounds of the people who steal my spec rolls (also ive been playing mostly xeno since i submitted this application)
If you don’t already have a core built, you go to the top, select the button that says special construction, and build anywhere. Not having a core built will automatically default to placing a core. Once you have done that and you can see a semi-translucent outline of the core, you need to click on it on help intent to fill it with plasma. Once you’ve filled it with plasma all the way (may take multiple times), the core will be built.
Once you burrow, you need to use your ability again on the tile you want to burrow to. Then, you’ll automatically pop up on that tile and slow people who are adjacent to it a bit. You don’t have a stunlock, but you can stop which stuns people in a decently large radius around you, and if you make acid traps and mix the two of those together on the defensive, you can be really annoying with stuns.
Build walls so that they provide adequate cover while also allowing for xeno movement. Don’t build the membranes at all, they’re useless pretty much. Build doors in between walls. See Hives - CM-SS13 - Wiki .
Grab them, aim for their head (num 8 or click the head on the doll in your bottom right), upgrade your grab to aggressive and you will begin to tear their head off, first fracturing it, then cleaving it off entirely. You can only do this to living humans (or synths) and if done to a human it round removes them.
+1 very chill individual, and knowledgeable on many things due to their position as synth councilor. They are already trusted by the community, and they should get Mentor.
