Well well well MARINE or a xeno (eww) you have decided that SPEAKING IS OVERRATED AS FUCK and started to think “hmmmm how can I communicate with my team but not have to type in this deadly trap of a chat box at the same time?” or simply had used macros before just to realize they now no longer exist?. Well if you ever thought of something similar to that then THIS GUIDE, YES THIS ONE IS EXACTLY FOR YOU MY DEAR UNGA.
Now you may have seen the old guide on MACROS made by Samson “Lisper” Jack. If you bothered to check if the advice that he wrote in his guide still worked in game then you would probably be very disappointed to notice that macros no longer exist since they have been taken out back and “peacefully” “liquidated” by the state, never to be seen again. LUCKY FOR YOU NOW YOU CAN HARNESS THE POWER OF: Picksay / Say / Me MACROS WITH MUCH MORE EASE THAN BEFORE!
INTROOOOOOOOOOOOOODUCING CUSTOM KEYBINDS!!!
Now let’s stop this yappucino and get down to business.
To set up custom keybinds you first have to find your way to the keybinds and that is via the “Setup character → settings → view keybinds” option or by clicking the “escape” button while in round and clicking “edit keybinds”. A window like the one shown on the picture should pop up, after that you have to simply navigate to the “CUSTOM” category by clicking the blue button under the search bar and you will have access to the custom keybinds list.
lets take keybind 11 here as example: You have 3 options to choose from when it comes to the TYPE setting:

Say - When used your character will say a prewritten phrase that you placed in the “set” bar, good for catchphrases and other stuff.
Picksay - The more advanced version of say. It will choose one phrase ON RANDOM from a pool of prewritten phrases you placed into the SET bar. The more phrases the better since by pure RNG it can repeat the last said phrase and damn it can lose you a lot of aura. I really recommend going wild with this one, its very nice for warcries, calling out contacts and variety.
Me - Well, you do a prewritten emote in the /me format. It’s really good if you want to style on xenos since they can actually understand your emotes by doing stuff like “Spins his deagle” or “giggles cutely” that you can quickly throw in the middle of a conversation or your aurafarming for extra larp points.
Once you decided which of the 3 options you want to create simply click on the type button and pick it. Set button is where you input your prompt, if you are making a picksay you have to use a +add button to the right of the prompt input bar to add them to the pool. REMEMBER TO SET ON WHICH SIDE YOU WANT YOUR KEYBINDS TO BE BOUND TO, IF YOU WANT IT TO BE ON XENO, HUMAN OR BOTH. After all that you just have to save and now you can plab xenos and talk smack at the same time!
For the last I heavily recommend doing all your picksays in a external folder for easier archiving. I hope this guide cleared up the topic of picksays for few people.
Have a CM day ![]()
