Hello. The war correspondent guy and some chad alpha engineer were chilling with a lizard boi. I walk up while the beach assault is crakin. Turns out they had domesticated the lil guy. We all give pets and fawn over our lil scaley guy, warding off marines who see him as some kind of threat (racists) - things get hot on the beach. Alpha engineer has to go do his job, so I take Brutus to the back lines where it’s safe. He’s a loyal, good boi and follows me everywhere. I introduce him to the lads protecting engineering. He’s v popular. War correspondent checks in. A fourth dad who I think may have been the OG dad comes over to say hi. He becomes the op mascot. The captain acknowledges him on the battlefield. Things get dicey at the beach. I lead my war boi up there to observe, get overrun by a couple ravs. Brutus dies. I let him down. Ghosting my body I see him being carried away from the front on a stretcher. Marines are crying. Morale is shot. - was this an admin thing? as I’ve never seen another domesticated lizard in all my years.
You can domesticate any lizard by feeding them food (which will make them friendly). Xenos can also do the same with resin fruit.

that’s a player-controlled lizard. they are usually(?) smarter than regular npc lizards because there’s a human mind behind them.
you can still tame lizards like jamson sack said, by tossing mres/resin fruit at them. just make sure to be in their sight (but not too close, they’ll growl as a warning if you’re too close) while they’re eating. if they emote something like “x stares curiously at Jamson Sack.” that means they’re now friendly to your faction (for an average marine, this means the lizard now likes the USCM. it will viciously claw apart the CL cuz he’s a WY corpo)
they’ll lick your hand and play with you (not to the capacity of a player but still cute enough), but they won’t follow you. you’d have to drag them with you. the upside is that their vicious attack code is still in-play, and if a xeno walks too close to it, they will become a heat seeking missile with perfect accuracy and beat the shit out of whatever pissed it off

Emphasis on heat seeking fucking missile, lizards are terrifying creatures
Player controlled mobs are done via admin events, e.g. just today we had one with rats on the Almayer.
You will NOT be able to control mobs outside of these rare circumstances, so unfortunately you’re out of luck in regular rounds.
