yes the iceberg hive options is a bit of the trap. the iceberg is a bit of a second tought for the map and is one of the experimental areas that is being udjasted a lot. when it comes to marine advantages z level shooting, there is only a minimal part of the map where you can shoot below at all, from the one round when you have at iceberg it gives you experience that does not reflect the map as a whole. Compared to multiz BR there is way fewer options to shoot down a z level and near to none options to snipe using scope from rooftop. When it comes to casable areas yes a bit fewer at the east, perhaps, but they remain casable from the first iteration of east area that did not have the upper level accessible from the west and that was meant as a way to balance that, they are not needed anymore. The iceberg is definitly gona get some tweeks and might be possibly removed, it mainly exists to give flankpath around charon so neither side is forced to use the bridges if they do not want to.
Did the multi-z version of the map have its stairs hellchokes fixed yet? It was fun for all of 10 minutes, before the xenos started camping the upstairs and capping half the corps.
Imo the stair hellchokes can be fixed by just letting marines look up like 3 tiles away from the actual stairs, instead of having to go in blind like with old ice ladders. Some stairs throughout the rig already have this implemented, and in those cases it’s simply a skill issue with marines not knowing they can look up.
If the iceberg stairs were NOT 3 Z-levels, it would actually be a perfect example of this. One side can look down the staircase, the other side can look up it easily while staying on their side, which negates any possibility of an unfun instant-cap you see in the others stairs, e.g. leading up to the cafeteria.
I know this part isn’t really applicable to this thread, but god. I’d give my left testicle for a HUD indicator that lets me know if I can look up, instead of spamming my look-up keybind every 3 picoseconds.

Yeah I made changes about 2 days before the map went off TM that changed most stairs to have about 3 to 6 tiles of extra space to look up. Plus i changed the ice burg so you only transit down 1 z level instead of 2 levels at once
Honestly I think people liked the map just needs tweeks
