Description of the incident:
I am making this report at the suggestion of admins.

Actually, I don’t really know how to describe this situation. I woke up as CMP in LV-522 round, and immediately three MT shoved and welded me inside the emergency closet. SEA came and saved me. Actually, if they’d just shoved me, I wouldn’t have really care that much. But welding a person inside the closet where there’s no reason? And griefing on LOOC after did it?

After I saved by SEA, and didn’t get resolved by Admins, I tried to solve this ICly by charging them with Sedition which is FALSE, I know but I was sad and mad, couldn’t really pay attention to ML at that time. And this made the situation worse. I don’t know what happened next.

I tried to F1 but there’s one admin and they are not available because of OOC issues so they advised me to make player report.

Hello i was Murphy this round and yes i did participate in shoving and welding you inside a locker.

Its an unwritten community rule that MPs and MTs are natural enemies. MPs are the enforcers of Marine Law that has to follow a set of rules, while MTs are not so restricted, allowing them to commit shenanigans that gets them into trouble with the law. So why would you not tackle spam the CMP who just woke up and locker them?

(Also i like how you cut out the part where you immidiately said “I’m gonna make a player report about this” in LOOC as you are being shoved inaide the locker)

And yes charging the MTs with sedition made everything worse, as every MTs are now under threat of permabrig or death for what is basically assault and DASO because we hurt the CMP’s feeling.

In this round I woke up late as an MP, and shortly after I was instructed that all MTs were to be arrested for Sedition.

I didn’t know why, but I continued to attempt and carry out the arrest. I did successfully arrest someone, although I am not sure who it was, and charged them with Sedition.

Shortly after this, the CO then came to brig and started to talk with the CMP. I was watching as they conversed, and what I saw the CMP say their reasoning for charging sedition was that, and I quote “I was sad”. Which is not any reason to arrest someone for sedition. Further, the “Griefing in LOOC” has no evidence. All they stated was “MTs spawncamped ur ass” and “lmao”. Those are not at all griefing, but instead just banter from them towards you.

We all make mistakes, myself included, but just try not to let your feelings get in the way when it comes to ML. Just because you’re sad doesn’t give you the right to charge someone with sedition and permabrig them, all because they shoved you in a locker.

I’m not sure why you made a report against the three MTs, as they hadn’t done anything severe enough to deserve a report. This is a common occurrence, as Murphy stated above. I have both seen it happen, and participated in it multiple times.

As for not remembering what happened after you charged them?

  • You were talked to by the CO
  • CO instructed that the sedition charge be dropped immediately
  • MT’s were released shortly afterwards.

I’m not sure if the CO reprimanded you at all for it, or if they did anything else afterwards.

The main issue here is Grief and LRP. But as I stated before, I know I made wrong decision as CMP, you don’t need to repeat something that has already been said. I’m okay with a jobban for making the wrong decision as CMP.

As for the Further, the “Griefing in LOOC” has no evidence. Let the admins decide whether it is sufficient.

I’m gonna just say it like it is.

Was it wrong to have shoved you in a locker after you had just woken up? Yes absolutely. Should I have done it? No probably not. But considering the situation there was absolutely no reason to have reacted the way you did. I’m going to just apologize because it ended poorly but, the way you handled such a common roundly occurrence it was not fair and just generally LRP and not very good conduct on your part.

I just wanted to mess with you for a little bit, not ruin your round and devolve it into a disaster like this. You were done being locker’d after about a minute or two and could have completely gone about your duties normally, unhindered and could have order our correctly charged arrest warrants instead of going off the deep end for the next 45 minutes. This was a completely IC issue that you took into your own hands and made worse for yourself. It was irrational behavior. Again I’m not saying what I did was right, I’m stating that you completely gave up and let your emotion control your behavior.

  1. I did not weld you in a locker, in fact I was the one who unwelded you from the locker. Again I did not want to ruin your round I wanted to mess with you then leave. Its no different than if someone else had shoved you in the middle of the round.
  2. Murphy was the one who had attempted to strip and weld you in the locker, but both me and Amber did not allow that to happen, when it started going terribly wrong I backed off- Didn’t want to ruin rounds just mess with people.
  3. You stated in LOOC you were going to make a player report about this which isn’t cool.
  4. You made an announcement that was extremely LRP from the situation;

  5. You permanently brigged an MT for the complete wrong charge, and they sat in brig for a significant amount of time with no timer or charges (by the way you threw them into their cell wall when you put them in their cell hurting them, which is excessive force)
  6. You had made another announcement that was LRP- plus that charge was outrageously incorrect

  7. You had kept going on about how we were griefers ICly and OOCly, with command announcements too. (I don’t have screenshots with me of those comments but if/when logs are posted they should be in the pull)
  8. A marine ‘Gramps’ was also arrested about this time when you arrested Amber and you also threw them in the cell with amber but you in your fit of rage or whatever left them in their full marine equipment and it resulted in you getting killed by them. ( I think they were handled by staff could be wrong )
  9. At this point you had completely given up all server rules and MP rules and were dead set on ruining the rest of our rounds for the most minor of shenanigan’s. Again- I’m not going to say that what we did was appropriate, it was just extremely wrong the way you handled it and blaming it on ‘I was sad’ or anything like that is just plain irresponsible.

If someone stabbed another person because they called them ugly would that be appropriate reaction? Like 0-60 turn around behavior giving up all common sense is just not reasonable

If I were the staff handling the situation I would leave this at most at a warning or verbal warning for you and the MT’s behavior. A major tell-off instead of actually sanctioning this because its just stupid. Again the locker thing was such a minor inconvenience and reacting the way you did was just uncalled for, even the most stressed CMPs don’t go complete berserk like that.

Again I’m not saying what I did was right, I’m stating that you completely gave up and let your emotion control your behavior. You are right about this, I could have handled this situation more rational.

  1. In my view, I saw three same looking MT’s shoving and dragging me around, I didn’t manage to catch the names. I have plenty of hours as MP and I know that Marines and MT’s may shove you without reason but welding a person into lockers? That’s crossing the line and as a former Admin, you already know that, right? And now I’m learning that one of the MT’s is SERVER MANAGER.

  2. All I saw is you three fled when you see the Sgt.Maj., you two clearly let him weld me to the locker, please don’t write like that.

  3. No, this was my only way to stop you, maybe this guys will fear from admins and stops. But you guys wouldn’t stop since you know that nobody will ban the Manager. I get it now why you guys didn’t stop.

  4. I don’t think that was Extremely LRP, but it may be considered as LRP. I am not an admin.

5-6-7. I did two announcements and you’ve already showed us. Admin will correct me if I’m wrong. And I repeat, as CMP, I had wrong actions.

The Sedition charge is actually not that wrong since, as the ML states, " To engage in actions or refuse to follow orders as to overthrow or usurp the legitimate command structure. Creating a massive threat to the ship without the knowledge and approval of the Commander falls under sedition. Yes, I’m repeating this for three times but I’ll say it again. There were more appropriate punishments. In my mood at the time, I chose a less correct punishment.

  1. Anyone would be wrong in response to what SERVER MANAGER, Retired Senior (or not don’t really know) Admin, currently mentor. did.
    You have no right to expect me to behave better when you’re behaving like this.

Again, neither me or amber welded you in, I cant stress this enough but I unwelded you from the locker and let you out of it and had backed off from any form of messing with you from that point on. The only person that attempted any actual harm other than pushing you over and putting you in a locker was the third MT who welded you in and attempted to strip your uniform. And for proof amber stated no stripping and I stated no welding ICly after we attempted to stop the third MT from doing that to you the welding being unsuccessful.

It wasn’t until the welding part where you actually escalated the situation to extremes- understandably.

Also putting the CMP into a locker is not considered sedition. Sedition is for extreme cases killing all of command staff, any form of mutiny, attempting to kill the CO (aCO or whitelisted CO+), attacking any form of high command whatsoever, threatening high command etc.

If anything, the only charges acceptable for the case would be assault (minor) DTGP (welding the locker) DASO and hooliganism. All of these are minor crimes worthy of either a NJP or a short jail sentence. Permanent confinement is not acceptable for something this low-tier.

Hi, I had my part in this situation as the MT Amber Walsh. I was the initiator for this interaction so the responsibility belongs to me. We only wanted to put you in a locker, then just leave no other trouble in mind. In what defense I have, I tried to prevent any stealing and left the moment I did achieve that. Initially, you didn’t seem too bothered by us messing with you out of cryo because you didn’t say anything to us besides “what” and you gave little reaction. I kept rolling with it because I thought you were cool with it. But that’s hardly an excuse all things considered, only my thought process at the time. I was fully aware of what we were doing and I should have kept myself in higher regard. I apologize for the LRP and open myself to accountability, regardless of anything that happened after the original situation was over. I hope our actions didn’t have any overlying effects and again apologize to make your round start stressful like we did. I’m embarrassed to have displayed myself like I did while representing our community as a manager and hope you’ll offer your kindness to forgive us

I really don’t know how to respond to this… that was the best message I got all day.

This incident really upset me not only for that round but also during the day. People might find this funny, but yes, I’m not the toughest person. I feel so much better after reading your message. I don’t know how the ticket will end up, but now I know what kind of person you are. I don’t need to hear anything more.

I apologize for being emotional and making the wrong decisions at that round, I am aware that the role experience of many players, including the CO, has been affected in a bad way.

But you guys wouldn’t stop since you know that nobody will ban the Manager
And also for this, I apologize for being biased.

I’m a big supporter of the whole classic MT vs MP stand-off. I’ve even participated on both sides of the fight in rounds going back.

What settles it for me is the roleplay. And as far as the logs show, you disarm spammed a CMP who joined 4 seconds prior. You then ganged up on him for 2 minutes straight. There isn’t much roleplay to be had

Considering you guys were obviously using discord to communicate and coordinate. This looks awfully griefer like to me. We’re the statements made in the aftermath LRP? Yep. Are they relevant? No.

The only reason I’m not taking further action is that the reporter has said they’re not looking for anything else.

The fact that two community members involved have copped that they were out of line and demonstrated that they tried to deescalate still doesn’t hide the fact that you disarm spammed a new-join CMP 4 seconds into their round.
