So we finally got a scientific proof that LV is a marine-sided map. (to be fair if you count xeno minor as xeno victory (at least they won the map) it’s perfectly balanced but ehhhhhh)
For more surprising things (to some people, not to me, as I’ve been saying it for ages) notorious New Varadero and Shivas Snowball turned out to also be very marinesided maps.
To be fair that data isn’t that usefull unless you also have access to information if it was lowpop, or highpop, or if it was prime queen from the start or not. Lo and behold prime queen on lowpop solaris ridge, surerly it is map flaws that marines lose more there.
No need for those stats to know that LV is marine sided, entire colony side is easly accessible to marines and contains most of the intel with big fields of unweedable tiles, unlike basically any other map.
The fact that LV can be won by just camping the 4 entrences to caves, while waiting for 2 hours for nuke, is just poorly thought out.
Edit: I still remember the abysmal round of point capture (three points where if you hold the majority you slowly win) that steelpoint hosted, and how it showed just how unblalanced LV was when marines decided to camp the beach with all they had (No shade to Steelpoint, as it worked very well on literally any other map).
stats are useless because xenos winning depends if the queen is prime/ancient or not + what combat castes primarily this hive had at the start + at the end.
I don’t disagree that LV is marine sided, but I think the WR for the other maps are a little surprising. I wished there was a bigger n value (because LV will be the most played, so other maps suffer from random noise), e.g. kuntjevo is marine sided imo due to easy sensors
With enough rounds, you can disregard factors like whether a queen is prime or not, since with enough rounds you’d expect the proportion of veteran and inexperienced queens to be roughly the same for all maps.
