One small queen nerf, one significant queen nerf

So, yes this is an IDED post, but it got me thinking about what I consider a pretty reasonable nerf, and one more substantial one, and id like to know what you think about it.

so for the small nerf, let deaf marines “hear” the queen stomping and screeching, as the full force of the tremors she creates, and the sheer air power of the screech should both be felt rather than neccesarily heard, and deaf people can still “FEEL” large changes in force and air pressure. This can cut down on times where deaf marines just get rolled by ninja queens they had no ability to know where there, as the queen is balanced heavily around sound queues.

So for the more significant and I’d argue controversial nerf, I think we should make the effect of screech scale with the amount of marines affected, similar to ravager’s empower ability. Screech is a very powerful tool, balanced against large groups of marines, and using it to guarantee captures on 1 or a small group is kinda distasteful IMO, considering a medium/heavy armored or wounded marine might literally not be able to outrun it. So here is how I think I’d balance screech.

1 marine: apply a daze (makes it difficult to see around the edge of the screen, but doesn’t slow or stun the marine. With just one marine in eye sight the queen should be relying on neuro or disarms anyways.

2-3 marines: daze, jitteryness, light slowdown. Not enough to guarantee caps, but enough to halt the momentum of a hive dive and save queen’s bacon

4-6 marines: the above, plus a light stun, maybe half or less the duration of current screech.

6+ normal screech

10+ bonus negative effects like confusion (makes your movement input random), longer knockdown, to incentivize the high risk high reward play making screech is mostly intended for.

This was just a rough draft idea, let me know what you think about the above, I really want to get some feedback on this idea.

I think this is pretty cool scaling, and would help a lot with breaking pushes and incentivize queens screeching as many people as possible with the extra effects. Yeah sure it’s a queen nerf, but it seems like a best of both worlds situation with mitigating marine saltiness and still keeping screech powerful.

I actually think this is REALLY interesting, especially given Queen already has neurospit for stunlocking for solo caps.

I’d probably mess with the scaling a little. 4-5 is a good place to start hardstunning. Letting deaf people hear stomps is amazing though.

Interesting idea. Also encourages more optimal play by using neurospit for what it’s intended for (targetting specific people) and rewards queens for using their scree on larger groups of people rather than just wasting it on a single person.

Yeah I do like the idea, though I think it should be said that two fearless ungas with AP can easily ruin a queen’s day. I’d rather the hard stuns come in a bit sooner at around 4 marines as said before, but that’s just my take.

Very cool idea, though it probably scales poorly with low pop.

With low pop, 4–6 marines is a lot more significant than on high pop so the screech should be more powerful.

I agree with @mistermovie said. And its going to be a new meta on high pop that cic will need 4 marines to push queen on high pop so the screech is honestly not working at all. I will give 4 medals, who wants to be the heroes for the bigger cause and we bum rush the queen while she have cooldown? I like the idea but playing this game for 8 years, people will find a meta and abuse it.

What I don’t like to have in cm at all is that xeno get stronger on how many people are in a screen, (Rav) and this idea. CM sides should be overall good if there is 4 marines or 20 marines, if you go against queen as 4 or 20 the power should be the same. So with rav, that is the only caste who have the 3rd calculation, it can be more easily removed before this 3rd option get added to all castes. The second they added a 3rd option on how to feed on how many is on screen, it get broken/unfair/unfun the marine who is in it or perhaps xenos later. I honestly wish cm didn’t have that 3rd calculation at all because it breaks the game, I hope at one point the people on screen get deleted.

It make it not fun/unfair/broken to fight against. Why rav have this at all? And this idea want to have more of it in is sad for me. But this is MY point of view on it. If sadar/flamer had more x/y blast/flamer range on how many xenos are on the screen. IMAGINE the unfairness. This is why I have to disagree with the rav change, and this idea. Sorry bud i have to downvote it for the bigger cause

Well its 2 marines but queen are oftne surrounded by many other xenos. Dont be alone every xeno should know that queen is no diffrent. Also nurospit exist.
