People on Fire should Harm xenos If they attack the burning indivdual similar to barbed wire (or a bit more)

Recently had this idea because Xenos often put people or rather Drag people on flame tiles to fuck them over when they’re supposed to fear fire/dislike light. this seems irrelevant but it sort of makes sense to make them be Damaged by fire because they’re vulnerable to fire lore-wise, plus this gives the burning victim a 1-2 percent chance of killing the Xeno.

It’s less that they are especially volnurable to fire, and more that fire eats away at carbon based lifeforms. To which xenomorphs are mostly carbon chitin.

But anyway, we should also give pat damage to marines if they try to pat someone out, and this might give a 1-2 percent chance to kill more marines.

xenomorphs are actually immune to fire in the films they’re just afraid of it

in the films they’re never shown to be hurt by it. the demon/the runner in alien^3 also displays resistance to extreme temperature - specifically, they’re hurt by extreme temperature differential, that’s why going from molten lead to being frozen blows it up. in alien, as well, it takes a direct blast from the ships rocket engine and is fine

in the games they occasionally show weakness to it in the form of AvP extinction having it be the only way to kill ravagers (they heal and revive from death if not destroyed or set on fire)

flamethrowers produce this temperature difference but it’s not enough to kill it, only drive it off

fire patting already burns you though as xeno, and as well you cant put facehuggers on people who are on fire - that’s enough of an incentive in my mind

I’m pretty sure they’re silicon, also in isolation when you try burning the xenomorph it just runs off, it doesn’t take any real damage which implies it’s more just afraid of the fire.

Also it’s really funny how the ravs one weakness in AVP extinction is what they’re immune to in CM.

that’s what i thought too! but then i remembered the marines gloves so it doesn’t damage their hands. anyway since this is lore checked by mods. i guess this idea is irrelevant!

I don’t remember where, but I read that temperature difference caused by being on fire constricts/expands their exoskeleton which is painfull and potentialy lethal during prolonged exposure.

And that explanation seems to work with films, CM gameplay and Alien:Isolation.

Then patting people on fire should harm marines too lol.

I can’t believe this entire time ravagers were weak to fire

WE NEED TO RETURN TO TRADITIONS, NO MORE FIRE IMMUNITY
