When a predator decides to engage with a xeno, it’s often the case that other xenos either wont and/or are expected not to join the fight. However, it’s been established that xenos have no sense of honor which make it frankly LRP to not defend the sister who is currently being killed by a predator. How do we justify in RP not interrupting a ‘duel’ between a xeno and a predator as a 3rd party xeno?

Meh, frankly its not really HRP but its xenos they wherent HRP in the first place.
I only intervene with xeno v pred when the xeno is critical to the hive (to the one pred who tried to hunt the lone alpha hive rav during an event, go fuck yourself)

There’s no RP involved with Xenos for the most part.
When I see a Xeno fighting a Pred I always try to help, but it just makes them run away, making them just pointlessly engaging the Xenos as always. So sometimes it’s best to watch for long enough, then step in and help when the Pred is weak, for a potential capture.
Either way engaging Preds is usually a very pointless thing, since they just run away.

I agree, and this is the problem that I wanted to address. If xenos are LRP now, how do we make them more HRP? Or is the truth an irreconcilable difference between gameplay (like you said, there’s no point interrupting a duel and trying to mob the pred) and RP?

To make xenoes HRP, or MRP, you need to give them something to RP about. Currently, you get msay, and that’s it.

For me, I know the pred runs if more xenos are sent on him. I don’t intervene so the pred doesnt run away and we have a chance to cap it.

if you were a predator, what kind of rp opportunities could you offer to xenos? is it easier for a xeno to attempt to engage in whatever RP is possible, or disengage to avoid LRP?

Xenos ganging up on preds instead of fighting 1vs1 sounds pretty HRP to me
roleplay isn’t walls of text or emotes
roleplay is doing what the thing you are playing as would probably do in the situation
That is why CM is actually a very RP heavy server in spite of player behaviour - you’re roleplaying without even putting in the effort to roleplay and thats frankly the best kind of rp.
There’s really no need to define some kind of rule or anything. Some people will try and do an honor duel, it mostly won’t work out, but it does sometimes. Most of the time xenos will gang up on you. It’s just… that’s basically what you’d expect.

I agree that not helping is LRP even moreso if you refused the help “cuz we are dueling”. Xenos are a hivemind, to them attack on one is attack on all, letting a sister fight a predator alone is very not lorewise behavior. That is just how things are and preds should expect more xenos to show up to defend hunted sister.
