So, ive always hated how xenology in research was kinda just this secondary thing that never produced a whole lot, compared to stims and greenos from contracts.
So, simple solution: Let the biomass printer make monkey cubes. Exponential price increase for each.
Great way to make Greenos more of a continual production thing.
Possibly nerf the amount of monkey cubes research gets for free to compensate.
To be clear, as is, the researchers get 4 or 5 cubes and CL gets another 4 cubes. Greenos can start with 8 or 9 xenos. They just typically don’t because greenos can get cocky really fast once they have the advantage, and also CL has to agree.
With this you will have some high pop rounds with 20 xeno bodies in research and greenos created 1.5 hours into the round, followed by all biomass going into like 5 more cubes. Then they use all cubes for the funny and you have a 13 greenos army that is practically a nuke in itself. I get that you mentioned to nerf starting amounts but in highpop lategame when one single carrier does a dum dum the same theory applies.
So, I do get there are some rounds greenos deploy, get rekt, and you wish you could continue with them in some capacity, but you used all the cubes. If you check for how many greenos are currently living vs how many died the system can figure out oh, there are 2 greenos left and all cubes are taken because 7 died, so allow for up to 2 expensive cubes to be made so greenos can continue with a 4 person hive. Something like that may be better than bursting a swarm of greenos for xenos to be salty about.
This used to be a common thing with the black market being able to buy monkey cubes, and I think the balance discussion has settled on Greenos not being fair if they’re tied to any other replenishable resource. Hive versus hive combat is (while fun) really hard, and doesn’t reward xenomorphs with captures- so marines being able to saturate the hive with higher numbers of uncappable allies is bad for balance.
tbf if marines locked in they could trade x number of riflemen for twice the number of greeno larvae every time, provided they could swing the RP on the corporate manipulation
Given that that is expressly a crime against humanity, there would probably be… ahem, a lot of people who would tell you to stop. And no on in their right mind agrees to become a host for an alien.Burke tried to impregnate two civilians and the Marines were ready to shoot him right there in the movie. Imagine suggesting impregnating *marines -*there’d be a mutiny if not a whole host of people who would see to it that you went to Skyfire Down for the rest of your days.
