You cant be toxic to people you dont know. You dont have any prior experience around them. XX makes it virtually impossible to know who you are playing with. My opinion comes from when i played CM when we didnt even have names or ranks yet and as a former senior moderator.
Sad to say i havent seen any veteran players saying about their experience as an old player when we didnt have names or ranks yet. Sure there are some upsides on having names and ranks but all im saying that the downside is that people know where to target their toxicity now unlike when we didnt have them.
If not for names we wouldnt have CHI, Yellows, or any queen getting reported frequently. Or xeno mains thinking that they are getting targetted by queen mains or other xenos.
Teamwork is definitely existent back then even without names at all. Xenos were still winning without them.
Hating MPs and CIC is CM culture. When i was a new player i used to shit on MPs too and as time goes on you realize that the marines are always at 100% at fault of what they do in the game.
playing with people who have experience that guarantees your survival and win makes it malicious? I didnt know people enjoyed losing now.
What next? Im gonna get accused for being a misogynist for complaining about xeno names and ranks? Can we get back to the topic?
the idea of removing the xeno names is so fucking funny to me
go play PvE, that there is an actual hivemind where the xenos don’t need names, vs having players behind a screen controlling them, roleplaying with them and working together with them
if people think theyre bullied for their name/if they are actually bullied for it, that sounds like a staff problem not a QoL one, having a name has way more pros than cons
anything else said about this is just ragebait, @RainbowStalin just let the topic die bro save your breath
edit: speaking of hiveminds though, add TTS to the queen hivemind text that only the xenos hear, wherever they are >:)
I think this is proven wrong by the existence of uuuuh… the internet? Nobody here knows eachother by anything other than pseudonyms. XX-### is a pseudonym.
Didn’t you yourself implied you were toxic before you left CM staff previously? I’m guessing you knew all of the people on the server personally before you left because we can’t be toxic to people we don’t know.
But in any case, moving on.
If anyone has any suggestions they think could be added to Xeno wiki, I’m all ears. I truly believe that there should be a stronger support system to make xeno gameplay easier for newer players.
You snipped my statements without the full context, replied to them with a gotcha that doesn’t even make sense, and think this is somehow what I told you. I have nothing more to say to you on this except make a new topic if you want to talk about this, as this is activly derailing the original topic.
I would really like a tackle counter on the wiki, since i don’t wanna search it up on forums to remember those i don’t have hardcoded in my head.
Highlights do so much for both factions. Damn shame all the info is received through text off to the side (Xeno UI is very alien haha get it, but its not really precise). I’m sure a lot of highlights can be carried over to both factions, but I almost wonder what ones are unique. I don’t have a suggestion for anything, just something that I noticed while I continue to learn the factions.
I know these things can be set up on their own, but until someone tells you about the function you miss a lot till you set it up perfectly to your liking
One thing I was thinking about recently was a way to be able to automatically emit the ideal pheromones. Player preference settings could set a priority of something like regen → frenzy → warding. If someone walks within pheromone radius of you and is emitting pheromones of the same or stronger strength that you’re already emitting, it automatically switches to something lower on the queue.
It’s quite a pain to have to shuffle your pheromones around every time another drone-type cast walks in or out of range.
I think nesting should be allowed if there’s hive weeds within one tile of the target wall, not on the same tile. Or make the wall sprite different if there’s hive weeds on the same tile. Having to right click the wall to see whether there’s hive weeds on the same tile is silly. Also, after someone bursts, it should just unnest them automatically. Because otherwise, after awhile when the body fully merges with the weeds, it’s not super obvious that a nest is there, so it sometimes fucks people over that are trying to nest someone else there.
Agree with the former but I’d rather nested bursts stay on the wall and have to be removed manually. It echoes the “egg morphers shouldn’t consume perma bodies” PR where removing dead bodies for convenience actually inconveniences opportunities to show off the devastation the hive creates.
The problem is that because xenos are a combat only faction, it’s very very hard to make QoL adjustments for them without touching balance. Probably the main reason why xenos don’t see as much QoL improvements as marines. Even if the balance adjustments are relatively minor, there’s gonna be a few people who make a fuss, which dissuades contributors who don’t feel like dealing with drama.
I completely forgot. I’m not sure if this counts as quality of life, but when I play burrower, I’d love if I could have something visually show my allies where/roughly when I was about to come out of a burrow. I actually think this one aspect hold burrower back a lot (and either has me dead or too far ahead of my teams intentions.) I also think this is a buff though, just nothing numerical. I enjoy the hell outa burrower.
I think burrower is fun. I thought it was alright before the slash being buffed (I’m too shite to care.) I’d rather something that aids in the castes intended use rather than more numbers increases. When I’m not afk placing resin holes like a low skill pleb, doing all I can to slow the marines advance, I like the use the burrow ability to tunnel into the marines and follow with the “Tremor” ability and either running away or burrowing back out if I’m not exploded or slugged. A lot of people have said that they feel like tremor doesnt last long enough, but I actually think it works fine. I see it as more supportive, something to aid in a boiler gas rush, or scree, or to try to ruin a marines primed nade toss. Even though the burrowing ability can be kinda difficult with its weird delays or impossible terrains, I’d still rather see it given something that aids in its supportive action.
I mean prea hook (oppressor) indicators exist, but I wouldnt want marines to see me coming up. Thats all I’m trying to suggest. Saying “I’m going in to do the thing” isn’t always easy to do in the brawl. You dont know if I’m running away either
Its probably been said before, but some kind of firing range equivalent for xenos. There are times when I just want to practice certain combos against non-moving targets and don’t want to deal with dying putting an end to any practice. There are castes that just require you to learn combos and how to use abilities, this would give you a place to actually learn without the risk of death.
Like it could be something similar to how the tutorial is set up with a empty room that has just some training dummies. Or maybe even a hive structure that places a target to practice against before marines land.
Some kind of system that detects you spam clicks (or universal ability) to damage some object (not characters like marines etc) it just automaticly sets you up to attack it continuously if you stand in one place. Destroying Hybrisa cars, or decorations that light up the map, or just slashing a cade nobody defends, it shouldn’t require so many clicks.
