Queen players hate this one simple trick!

For XOing, there’s a good strategy I’ve noticed.

Just holding a very open area and waiting for xenos to push. Like LV beach for example, hold that and wait for queen to get bored and rush into marines.

It worked well in that LV round earlier. Then you’d rush caves when their numbers are weakened by quite a bit.

I think this is the best way to deny caps and to win.

Fun fact : The protein bars are the only way marines maintain full cohesion. If all marines in your squad eat the bars that means they are more likely to survive (source: the CO in my dreams)

Just wait until marines learn this trick… and stop pushing caves, it’s gonna be :fire:

Bea, really, this should be in General > Acid Goop .

Players don’t want to get bored. Period. They come to play and not to wait. This is for both sides. Marines and Xenos don’t want to just sit in their optimal positions and wait. Both sides will try and sneak in a few skirmishes and then both are re-engaged again.

I’ve seen a few Queens who could control the hive and the xenos would stay put. Sometimes took a banishment for it to work but I saw it work. Then they just waited. Long minutes they just waited. One by one marines couldnt resist the urge to push, to click benos, and thus the front was inside caves.

Its way easier to control 15-25 xenos with a banishment hanging over their heads than 60-80 Marines with no punishment whatsoever.

Bea realizing that the most optimal way to play is the most boring and is the only reason why win rates are the way it is (because people want to play the game).

Veterans and good command all know how to win on marine side, and the same can be said by veteran xeno players / queen players. But damn is it boring as fuck waiting for the other side to blink first.

wanna know how to counter this
and the best way to win as Queen

build up beach and immediately de-ovi, don’t push across river and wait for them to get bored or tunnel to the alternative comms spot before they can fully establish it with your entire hive

at lowpop if you’re good the round will end the moment you de-ovi, oftentimes it’s the only way to win too as xeno at that pop

This is literally CHI/WAR XO

please don’t do this

While obviously meta, it’s also excruciatingly boring. We’re here to kill other players, not stare at our screens for an hour. Unless you have enough charisma e.g. groundside CO, most people are going to ignore you and start pushing.

MegaFOB hold and such have always been meta, it’s nothing new.
Similarly, xeno cave/hive hold have always been meta.

Do you guarantee victory as long as you have patience? Yes. Yes you do.
But frankly, it’s a dick move to both sides and people who yap about winning or losing ought to go play hoi4 instead.

I don’t enjoy sleeping in caves when queen orders everyone to do so (and destroy everyone who even sets one foot outside in hivemind), and I also don’t enjoy sleeping at X for an hour because some CIC gigabrain decides that winning and feeling like 2d budget napoleon is more important than everyone on their team actually playing.

As Fry said, there have legitimately been rounds where both CIC and Queen decided to do this and we’ve waited for an actual whole fucking hour doing nothing because neither side would push. I seriously debated ahelping for cyro and playing something else that round.

I see. It’s just usually most rounds marines funnel themselves into tight chokes and half of the force gets capped.

I feel like it’s better to bait xenos out into the open and repel them there.

just. Go west caves then go east caves then west again then east until you break through xeno defences

Bea, brother, we been playing this game for a very long time. Ig marines just sat at fob, they would win. They dont even need to push or hold anything apart from fob. Sam could be said for xenos, just hold hive caves and ez win.

Only issue is when both teams just sit for hours and after a few such rounds you understand its not worth it. Most of us are here to have fun. Have some dig ity about your playstyle. Winning with a rat like playstyle is so sad.

Bro discovered holding a choke point, a thing everyone’s been doing forever.

Did you forget xenos can easily build too? Making the gap shorter or even allowing boilers to acid cades until they fall.

I think delta marines actually have some innate magnetic sense in them like monarch butterflies do that lets them home in on and migrate to a certain geographic feature, that being caves

This should be studied

Nah it’s more like the blood rage from Warhammer 40k where instead of entering a blind rampage they have to rush caves.

Cause people play the game to have fun. I want to charge into battle and click on things until horizontal. I guarantee you, every veteran marine already knows ‘it’s a bad idea’ and ‘it’s a trap, because it’s what I’d do as xeno’. It’s an active decision to have fun.

Same goes for xenos.

I don’t want any messages saying ‘I’m holding my position.’ We’re not holding a goddamned thing. We’re advancing constantly and we’re not interested in holding anything except the enemy’s balls. We’re going to hold him by his balls and we’re going to kick him in the ass; twist his balls and kick the living shit out of him all the time. Our plan of operation is to advance and keep on advancing. We’re going to go through the enemy like shit through a tinhorn.
