Rebalances OT casings

The problem is sadar rockets being too plentiful (and powerfull and unavoidable) so the solution is to restrict OT supplies/chems that could be also used to make nades, mines and C4?

What kind of a solution is this?

You know there is already a thing that can be restricted and pretty much inpacts only SADAR rockets which is their fuel?

Why not restrict this thing only and promote OTs making something other than rockets?

I’m thinking now about payload to fuel and speed relation. The more explosives and incendiary stuff you put in a rocket, the heavier it becomes, thus in-game logic it travels slower trough the air.
The other factor could be also the ratio to fuel and payload. You could add more payload at the expense of fuel and in reverse.

This makes those truly maxcap giga rockets flying slow trough the air, thus making them more dodgeable, while lighter, but less powerfull could be even quicker than current rockets are, stuff like that.

As I said, the specific reductions would have to be decided by others, however it sounds like you identified perfectly the resource that would need to be reduced to make rockets less prevalent. I fully support OTs creating equipment outside of just rockets.

I do not like OT rockets but at the same time, if I win the Spec race to get SADAR and there is no OT, your pretty limited as a SADAR. You literally eat the entire req budget and get at most a handful of AP rockets (the only useful rocket type since your primray job is T3 killing), and even if you land every shot its not a guarantee of a kill, so after a while you basically become useless.

OT’s are the only thing you can depend on as SADAR at some point, which is why you see so many OT rockets being fired first; because hoping for AP rockets is impossible in some rounds due to AFK or non-existant req, or they blow their budget on something that isn’t you, or they fuck up in sending your rockets and by the time you get them the xenos are at the FOB.

Mannnnn yeah I agree. Im permab& for now but I don’t wanna come back and see OTs completely gone/nerfed to uselessness, I love the ones that make cool flamer mixes, fun C4, gigachad claymores, mortars — and people generally agree that those things are fun and fine

In fact i think OT rockets existing is kind of unfun because it forces the idea that if OT doesnt use all his resources on SADAR, he’s basically sabotaging the operation… I think limiting the availability of SADAR rocket propellant is the best option

But we don’t wanna make SADAR Spec unfun to play by decreasing OT ammo availability, as @Swagile said ----- so what if we give him/Req a bunch of cheap, throwaway utility rockets? Like… Shrapnel rockets, shock(w/e that one grenade is) rockets, smoke rockets, etc, and we make them small so he can carry a shitton. That way he can still have fun just shooting goofy rockets, which would make up for limiting his OT ammo availability
