'remove ID restrictions to vendors, rooms, etc' button in CIC available to press during hijack/delta alert

what do you guys with about it? basically a button a current commander or CIC staff can press during hijack to remove restrictions to vendors and rooms for anyone onboard Almayer, in order for roles like medbay staff, engineering staff to gear up before xenos crash into the ship. The activation is only available on delta alert aka hijack, it doesn’t work on on red alert. Personally I feel like in a situation where entire hive of xenomorphs is flying to kill you all you as ship commander wants everyone able to carry a rifle to have said rifle and armor too. In case there is a solid reason not to remove restrictions, for example multiple CLF prisoners are on board, then current commander can just not press the button, just like CIC can or won’t enable evac pods. The role who can press the button will either be 1. current commander 2. CIC crew (CO,XO,SOs) 3. both current commander or CIC crew can activate the button

Wouldn’t you try to lock down the ship more to contain the xenomorph threat and their attack routes? Or atleast slow them down? Like I’m amazed that not every firelock around the crash site auto locks around the dropship imptact.

what stalin said, also removing access restrictions during prisoner escape will make it easier for them to arm up. Medics and the like can still get guns from req and the prep rooms…

I wouldnt mind disabling access locks on the PFC vendor for people with a marine ID equipped so that people can very quickly arm up without having to go into their special prep room though

Perhaps ID restrictions should be reduced on the basic prep vendors, if its even possible to code it that way. Don’t know if its doable properly by code or not however.

Engineering and Medical already get access to the armory on Delta Alert. I think anything beyond that is excessive.

Not when xenos have all access by opening doors. So no their is zero reason to do that.

Plus it’s an evacuation. All access dosent mean all doors open and it only applies to marines. So even in the event of a human invasion non USCM people would still be stuck. As he doors dont open for those people anyway. So unless CLF where already outside of their cells their no way they can get out.

I really like this idea as it makes sense for an evacuation where everyone needs to GTFO as soon as possible. Grab all the gear you can carry and run. Esspecialy when you got marines bunkering down. Everyone can easily grab gear without needing to think about it. Cause in an emergency every scound counts so you should not need to think about it. Cause that time could be life or death.

I also say that things like ID locks on pill bottles should be removed. If im dying and we got some pill bottles. I should not need to have o ask a medic to open it for me.

We all had that moment where we see shooting down doors during evac. Thats a safety violation.
