Title. I get the intention was to make larva queue more manageable for xeno players (le young runner dying 50 times), but I feel this was done without consideration for marine players in mind.
Xenos were already scoring a ton of caps with queen screech and runners, now they get double the reward?
Just remove the queen screech then. Because now queen screeching into runner dragging will be close to two times worse. The tunnel change does not mitigate this whatsoever. Prime queen screeches and gets 3 caps? Xenos earn 6 while the only way for marines to be able to recover their numbers is through foxtrot, which grants a total of 5 and is tier 3 intel and expensive.
I’m a xeno main. I want to work hard to win, I don’t want the game to be prime queens and runners causing sub 1 hour evacs 80% of the time. This is a very bad change that I feel was made without any consideration for marine players.
The only way this change would be good is if the main way of scoring caps was removed (cough cough queen screech). Queen screech should just be deleted until the developers can find something else for queen.
Disappointing pr. Again, only way I can see this being a good change is if queen screech is taken out back and shot. Or if foxtrot is buffed massively.
Explain to me how this change will make things more fun and fair for marines now that capping is even more powerful.
It’d be funny if we unironically went all in on respawns and mega buffed foxtrot too so both sides have large respawn pools.

Queen screech is still needed though. Removing it outright would be a bad idea- It’s STILL the only way to stop the unga horde; xenos have no other form of mass CC outside of acid runner (unreliable without screech) and boilers (which mostly just stall)
I’d rather it get replaced with whatever people have cooked up in the queen combat rework (iirc still in very early stages), or better yet just add the tackle resistance Drathek mentioned in his PR.

Queen just too slow, to deal with more than 2-3 marines. And she probably need to use scree for that. Because marines move faster, than she.

And without scree (Because neuro spit range is not 7 tiles lmao), queen can be actually trolled to death by lone marine with MK2.
I hope the tackle resistance pr gets added soon. It would nerf runner tackle dragging during queen screeches to at least some degree, but a nerf is welcome nonetheless.
It’s near impossible to counter runner dragging during queen screech, especially if there are walls or resin nearby that the marine can be dragged to within a second. 98% of marines aren’t gonna equip light armor and a m79 with macros, which is the best “counter”.
Keep the 2 burst but remove the gun jamming and durability from marines. Problem solved. World Peace Achieved. I can provide you the P.O. Box to send my check in a direct message.

As i said in the thread about double bursts in discusion section - queen screech is really needed because without it you will probably end up with mass banishments because a lot of xeno players just ignore orders and die fighting in the open and other capping methods are not as reliable as queen is.
