Sources of concentrated dopamine

What are your favorite sources of neuron activation in game? I’ll go first

The other day I got some OT rockets as sadar, and despite being bad at sadar (I miss more often than I hit) I killed a warrior and praetorian in a single hit back to back and felt like some kind of big brained badass.

Securing kills as base runner off weeds against tough opponents also feels great

Getting a woyer lunge into cap or kill

Just barely critting a xeno before it gets away to weeds

Watching a runner/lurker pounce into my barbed wire cades (this is NEVER not funny)

my concentrated dopamine is cooking hand thrown grenades while chasing a spitter or woyer that is camping an area. From the “Grenade out!” to it being in my hand until the last second it detonates; to it being thrown in the egress of said spitter, woyer, xeno. Ahhh I love it.

When you pounce someone as lurker, and you know they are going to try to insta PB you, so you shift one tile over and they miss.

Hit pb then direct flame

When you kill that runner harassing the FOB or Medics.

rushing a t3 with a smartgun when i’m in crit, getting the kill, then immediately falling over dead

nothing hits your dopamine like that sweet pb gib/crit on a runner.

Nothing hits your dopamine like that sweet runner pounce on a guy and he pbs himself after getting up.

Nothings hits your dopamine like 10% hp on Queen/T3 going into marine blob and murdering them all and getting out with 5% hp.

Diving a group of marines as a max rage zerker and hitting the kill button

Or alternatively getting a lot of marines in base rav empower and one shotting someone with a charge

Fortifying as base defender in front of some noobie and seeing him shoot his standard soft-tip pulse rifle rounds, tickling you gently on your armored head. Or just walking around a guy with M10 in normal state, withstanding the gentle wind caused by that compact leafblower in his hands. It is not a dopamine shot like a dangerous drug, overloading your receptors and changing you into sweaty lurker/rav, but it steadly gives more and more in small doeses as long as they do little to no damage, which doesn’t rewire your brain to be a junkie.

Hoarding metal to fortify an escape pod corridor, then when the hive comes frothing at the mouth, throw them the bird and until the last cade line before peacing out into space.

People treat flares like they’re expensive. Whole battlefields in the dark. The gush and fizzle as I expend three packs of flares to illuminate everything brings me joy.

Stripping off my gear to bare knuckle box a predator. Never ends well, they usually toss me a blade, but my fists of fury are the only weapons I need.

As squad leader, building rapport with the squad by asking everyone to state their name over comes round start and tell everyone an interesting fact about themselves.

Looting dead marines. They’re like loot boxes.

Getting my long range scope and tripod on a cade and pestering xenos downfield who are trying to rest and recover.

Getting pointed at by xenos for being annoying.

Comprehending that the front is collapsing before it’s too late, the run back to fob is always a rush.

Being Defender rushing a tall tail sweep, drop crest, and robusting the tall into a wall, then hitting the tail bash all while slashing. . . hitting the combo feels so good

I have to assume a Warrior soloing CIC and the Almayer is a good choice as well. @RainbowStalin Can you confirm?

@Hellware I did not think of that one. Good call.

Nothing quite like winning an operation and knowing you was an essential part of it.

Whether that be an executed flank, as CIC, Spec, whatever

Running through a cluster OB to recover a dead marine.

When you loot the GL for his armor, helmet, gloves and you couple it with an HPR to be crawling death itself.
Bonus points if you managed to loot polished boots as well (somehow).

When I do something that seems to make the round more fun or memorable for someone else.

Hellware I don’t think the screams and bone frac noises come with the gun…

Was playing carrier a billion years ago near round end on new varadero, was one of two or three xeno left, but I’d found a marine and I would tackle him and slide him into the whirlpools. It was funny the first dozen times, but I felt bad and made sure he could get his revenge by the end of it. It was kinda evil.
