Have their be a second command tablet. Just in case a CO goes ground side and dies. Good luck makeing a tactial evac call now. More of a quality of life change. Good for hijack as I don’t need to go to CIC to call it. Might also be nice for longer round with multiple CO’s.
CM in general is very stingy about spare gear. If it’s not too much trouble add some spare stethoscopes for doctors.

Well technicaly my reason is that if a CO deploys and dies it’s likely the tablet will be gone forever.
I used hijack as an example of what it would be super useful to have it. As commanders often don’t call evac right away so queen cant disable boats. But if the tablet is gone as an aCO you have to go to CIC to call it. Often times this can result in death.
I’m not sure why you thought my reason was to prevent evac.

No, not to prevent the evac, I thought you meant because aCOs are holding off on calling evac because lifeboats can be locked, and with your extra tablet you could call evac if they died. Or even with the CO alive! You could call evac from under him!
Either way, extra tablets doesn’t seem like a good add IMO.

Secret fifth alternative to Dante’s list (even though it was inverse understanding of request, it is, still, all true) and to living with consequences of CO/XO dying with the tablet:
Become altruistic. Stay in CIC to fix the APC and make the call. Die for your ship, and for your men.
I stay in tcomms or re-set AA as needed up until the last minute i possibly can as CE and ASO. I did it as captain on TGMC always too. I know it means I’ll die, but my round is already over anyways. I’d do anything to fix AA or tcomms or later move to SD if it means even one person gets away easier. My characters for those roles are all altruists, so it might not apply to everyone, and I get that. But if you aren’t that martyr, and don’t want to be IC, then no OOC mechanical requests should fix that. Character decisions like that should have consequences. Also my loss is nothing because im not robust and i have meatshields for fragging but that’s NOT THE POINT, OKAY?!?!?!

The CO dying and losing the tablet should have consequences for the Marines. This is handholding .
In my opinion, the tablet isn’t something that should be lost easily. It is Command and Control equipment carried by the highest-ranking officer on the ship, i.e. a person who should be protected at great costs and careful to keep themselves safe. Additionally, if it’s a roundstart spare, that is an additional person that could be given the ability to make announcements to the entire Marine force [CO with tablet, XO with bubble, ASO with spare tablet for example], something that must be given due consideration as well.
