Enforcement Action Taken

Description of the incident:

I was playing acid runner and spotted a friend of mine playing marine, I decided to play around with them a bit and said “____ you will be murdered” in LOOC. I was contacted by Vending Machine and told to not “use looc to bypass language restrictions”.

Firstly, I was not using LOOC to bypass language restrictions, I never gave the friend any viable information, I only told them something I could have just as easily messaged them on a third party site, and it would be fine.

Secondly, me using LOOC shouldn’t be upheld to a roleplay standard. I am not attempting to roleplay through the local /out of character/ chat. The note portrays me as a low roleplay/low quality individual, and overall is harming to my most accurate self-image; the information it gives is wholly inaccurate and sheds a bad light on me as a roleplayer.

In conclusion, the rule violated in the note specifications is incorrect and I believe Vending Machine confused the purpose of my action for something more malicious than it was.

Hey there, @staykeu.

If your in-character communication with another player is restricted, and you use LOOC to communicate with them instead, that’s a rule violation. There’s a reason why humans can’t understand Xenomorphs, don’t try to bypass the restrictions like this again.

Nobody forced you to use LOOC; you wanted to do it. When I read the note, I don’t think Vending Machine added anything subjective, the note simply describes the incident and provides the evidence. After doing something wrong, blaming someone for warning you and adding a note because of it doesn’t seem very reasonable to me.

Looking at your previous notes, I see that this situation should have escalated to at least a 1 day server ban. Vending Machine chose to resolve it with a warning, and trusting their judgment, I won’t be issuing a ban. Essentially, the only thing Vending Machine has done here is show leniency in your case, stepping outside the usual escalation just so you wouldn’t get banned.
