It’s slop and I love slop. On the real, though, with how gameified it is there is a unique and lovely sense of competition that comes with deeply learning all the WAYS the slop is served. Power is vested much more heavily in the individual marine, and it’s easier to make a name for yourself as a static.
In terms of bare movespeed, it’s slower, but diagonal movement feels great and when you DO get fast however you get there, you feel hype as fuck. I love Vali a lot and when you have medium armor and are a Corpsman for a gamer chemmix you can survive an onslaught of five to six xenos at once and net a few kills out of it. I’ve killed two out of a crowd of eight in a maze acting as the vanguard before running out of green blood and becoming a hobbled living husk as my entire body necrotized at once from overusing the system.
More isn’t always better, TGMC suffers from a lack of vision, consistency and direction.
Standards for things are vastly different, at least when it comes to the visual side of things. I don’t know enough about it to know how the gameplay loop really is, but from what I’ve seen it’s a similar situation.
I prefer the more realistic approach that CM has, and the direction of the art, it’s run better in that department for the most part.

I do like the TGMC feature that allows you to use a drop pod and land anywhere open that you like. Often times in CM13 you are at the mercy of both the alamo and normandy pilots who may be afk or holding at fob.
Cm is the main character in ss13. Tgmc is just a fake wannabe. A simple fan who adore the main character from a awesome movie. A mere copycat. Cm is batman, tgmc is robin, a 3rd wheel aka the little kiddo in the gang that no one like. Tgmc players come to cm and say tgmc is this and that, you should add it! Then why are you in cm uh? UH? Because you like cm better. you don’t see players from cm in tgmc and say cm is this and that because they know cm is perfect. I have never even played tgmc but everyone who play it and speak to me in deadchat say tgmc is slop. Cm is better. (Please dont verify it by checking logs admins) Nanu have forced me to write this, send help.
Jokes aside. I think tgmc is good in their own way. And cm is good in their way. None of them will ever be great, humanity will never be pleased. Just have fun gaming where ever you play.
With an unhealthy amount of hours more on CM, I can say in full confidence they’re very, very different experiences at their core despite overlying similarities. I’m very content with them both occupying a place in my heart.
