Unwrenchable cades on Almayer is a bizarre thing.

Everyone still builds cades but they make these double sided things. Newer players, or players who haven’t built cades on Almayer, build cades and are just flabbergasted by them being perma loosened- then, they learn to essentially abuse an admin approved exploit to make them stable which is itself sending the wrong message. Fundamentally, I don’t agree with the change because you have an entire subset of the marine force whose focus is building & repairing which is made kind of null. I mean, again, you’re kind of encouraged to exploit it which in practice just means double mats for inefficient cades.

I dunno, I guess it’s resulted in less lifeboat holds, but it’s a really convoluted route to get there. Is it worth it? Is there a better solution?

I’ll take literally anything over holding/attacking southeast pumps for the 108th round in a row

crazy idea guys

what if we just bring old SD hold back

actually fun last stand and you dont have 90% of the marine force split up or doing solo holds, plus forces xenos to assault instead of the slop we have now

The solution was always to prevent pipes being unwrenched

i never got to play this but it sounds far better

everyone loves SD hold on TGMC despite it being nigh-unwinnable for marines, it’s just kino fun

I have a soft spot for the old evac were their were no pumps or lifeboat flanks.

It was jsut one massive cade wall and the entire xeno hive attacking. It felt super tense as you were trapped and waiting 15 minutes for evac. Just pure butal death holds with possible evac.

It also ment you could RP a bit as you were in a safe spot with minmal movemnt. Well until the came and kill you.

one time we held so well the queen just let us evac and then we pushed out and died. Another time we held so long without evacing the round ended on it;s own.

It was intended to nerf marines, if anything it’s done the opposite, so I won’t be surprised if we go back to them working again.

On and on the cycle of Almayer hijack balance goes, nary an end in sight but who knows, maybe the next update will make it fun, but I think it just blows.

marines didnt know but cades were a power limiter placed on them by xenodevs. By shedding their water wings, they sink or swim with their own abilities alone

Getting old is accepting that we live in a big ass spiral.
