Actually this would open us up to claims by Disney. As long as we are not taking money the community is on better legal grounds. By taking money, Disneyās argument could be we are taking funds away from the IP owner, or something of that nature. Better to not risk it.
Also, @c4xmaniac aptly said. I would rather have the server die and possibly rebuild than allow ā40k/halo/starwars larpā in the server.

It is my understanding that Disney still owns the Aliens IP. Was it transferred to Warner Brothers in a recent merger or transaction?
Regardless, the point remains. I do not like it either and United States copyright law is flawed. I deal with it enough on a daily basis.
