Hive had a 2:1 advantage although it was a T1 Hive with immature Queen but with double burst why not just cap the last talls? hoping someone with better gamesense than i can explain
edit: this actually goes an edit for the first 3 movies too, doesn’t make a lot of sense although there’s no Queen in those movies, they still often have eggs or nests?
TLDR; It’s faster to kill them and requires less thought and removes the need to transport them to the hive or somewhere to nest them.
It’s essentially just people being too lazy to try and capture and transport when you can just keep left-clicking until horizontal, and from my experience most combat caste players seemingly only care for how many kills they can rack up (ignoring the fact that a burst is a kill and two larva).
Noob Xenos throwing an easy win condition by kill chasing smdh.
Resurrection needs to be deleted from all streaming and media platforms so that people forget it ever existed. It’s for the good of the franchise.
Continuity has also always been an issue. I think they’re less concerned with the exact physiology of the Xeno, and more on making it a mysterious and deadly monster.
Feels like each time Ridley Scott is involved, the series begins to be interesting and mysterious and cool, (watching Prometheus as I type this) and then someone else comes along and shits it all away.
Tbf James Cameron fuckin cooked with Aliens, especially with the set pieces and overall design. (You see a ton of aliens inspired design in avatar too).
But yea, alien 3 and 4 were significant drops in quality. I liked Romulus a lot and thought it tied a lot of the greater universe together, but even with my bias towards loving Alien as a franchise I have to admit they did kinda play it safe with Romulus and didn’t innovate too much.
Covenant and Prometheus are honestly not even really alien movies IMO. They are very symbolic “high sci-fi” horror movies that focus a lot more on themes and symbology. The alien is just kinda there causing problems, and isn’t even the main focus a lot of the time. They’re neat in their own way, just weren’t really for me.
