Why do you play CMSS13?

1.Addiction
2.CM is unironically one of the few games where a good amount of the rounds feel unique. With how even the bald cargo tech having a impact on the round to a degree. There really isnt a another game like CM.
3.The amount of changes the game gets help it be somewhat fresh making me comeback to see what changed.

I started traditional SS13 in 2020 after seeing a video/stream of it as it seemed interesting. I think it’s fair to say it’s not the easiest game to learn, but the depth of the game is also what caused me to stick with it all these years. I didn’t try CM until 2023, and the change I enjoyed most was that basically all the antags are known. I don’t find it that fun to get round-removed by someone you thought was your coworker, so it was a welcome change. Also as much as people like to shit on many things about the game, I think the mechanic of xenos needing to capture marines to reproduce (outside of larva surge which is a one-time thing) with the marines aiming to escape and get larva removal surgery in time is a very interesting mechanic that most other SS13 servers either lack or it’s very rare. Generally, I consider mechanics that let ghosts back into the game as a good thing.

Roleplay games addict + I need that LARP.

More in-depth work on ingame mechanics over the years compared too rouny, and I weirdly like cook RP. (The mess tech experience fills the void)

It scratches the roleplay itch, and I enjoy the universe.

takes the ever-changing and complex mechanics of SS13 and replaces the relatively weak antagonist system with a complex and threatening enemy that doesn’t just sleepypen you in maint and throw you out an airlock, which creates the context for both a much better roleplaying environment and more dynamic gameplay for stuff like medics.

some of that gets lost as the game moves more away from an awesome rp game and towards a shit tdm one.

and yeah at this point it’s pretty much an addiction

@SolidFury It is always entertaining watching you robust people as CMP or MP. Most marines have no idea what you are capable of.

The people.

Iv not got the army of meta buddies some do, im a little memed on in general, but the little wholesome RP moments and some of the people here keep me coming back.

Plus my friends in the company wont let me leave before i secure corporate domination.
