An idea I’ve had for a while is that xenos should be able to force-feed healing fruits to humans in order to keep capped troops alive.
It got marked as stale, but it should be no problem reopening it.
Wait don’t healing fruits not heal humans. It would be an easy change but still.
They heal you but they give you fruit resin, or something like that. It is fine to chomp one once, but more is giving you more harm than healing.
To be specific. Fruits have about 50u in them, and above 30u its OD. Taking a bite takes 5u or something along those lines, so you’d have to nerf the fruit resin container (only affects research) for them not to OD and kill the cap.
That is if it dosn’t use another set of values like the PR i listed had.
Good thinking.
Just as Giger intended.
why would resin fruits also heal humans, their biologies seem utterly incomatible (omitting that they come from humans but they have acid blood m’kay)
Lets just say that tricordiazine is inside xeno frooots and it makes just as much sense as bicardine pill stiching your rav evisceration wound.
I mean. It would stand to reason why there are healing chems in the first place, alongside only WY making those chems. So one could stand to reason that WY has some xeno fruit farm somewhere just getting their wonder chemicals for it (its 2182, so they aren’t synthesizing it yet).
I do love magical healing chems taken from star trek. ofc i wouldnt prefer real life ones :trol:
But even if we want to suggest WY is farming xeno fruits. Why would the Almayer, the tiny ship with like dogshit equipment get healing chems
Well, you make some of them (like bicardine) with just mixing oxygen, carbon, sugar and then additional carbon.
So it is super cheap to produce, but one can only wonder if chem recipes are canon to CM.
But it requires adding something like “Chemical X” on top of those generic substances which makes them into wonderdrugs like they are. Then go with a little bit of additional lore that WY synthetized it from xenos somehow and then found a way to easly and cheaply make an artificial version of it, which then was sold to UA and others, while stolen by UPP and such.
What if, instead, the hugger that jumps on the marine provides some chemical concoction that acts similarly to inaprovaline and tricordazine? A small of enough dose to keep them stable for some time, but not enough to heal them or keep them alive if they’re super injured.
