A Crutch

Simple medical item, needs to be held tightly as the cane to work.

Helps marines hobble faster to surgery if they lose a foot or have a broken leg. Should (hopefully, code-wise) be used on the opposite side of the hurt leg for full effect.

Pros: Faster movement while legs are hurt. Soulfull appearance of wounded marine.
Cons: Niche situation required for use, takes up space in inventory, locks a handslot while in use.

Small xeno buff: Signalizes that a specific marine has a broken leg, that he is slower and incapable of holding a bigger gun properly.

Soul. Very solid idea.

Great idea man.

Sounds lovely. Bonus points if having medical skill > rifleman warns you if you’re using it on the wrong side

You actually use a crutch on the same side. Medical roll failed.

Jokes aside, unless its tiny, or otherwise easily storeable its never getting used. Cool idea and im up for adding it just for player fun, but you might as well take a roller.

Edit: apparently i am wrong, you use it on the opposite side outside of specific injuries. I suppose mine was one.

Its basically a self roller bed. Roller is faster? Absolutely.

But that requires two people. Pros and cons to both but at least it would be an option. I can already see a backpack full of crutches getting prepared for a front crate or to keep FOB stocked with those.

True. I can see a backpack full of them for the front

That would be soul.

The only potential downside of this becoming mainstay content is all the jokes at the expense of disabled people that will inevitably erupt.

I didn’t even think of telescopic until I saw your sprite. If size/weight is an issue though, make a stack of handles a small item and have them lock on the wooden pole made from 3 planks.

Then you can swipe the sprite and tapping footstep sound for extra flair.
